Under general direction, performs varied, complex, and confidential technical, administrative, and secretarial support duties in support of an assigned department director/elected official or the Chief Administrative Officer, which includes handling confidential information and materials; has frequent contact and coordinates and participates in assigned programs, projects, and services with other County departments, divisions, and outside agencies; works with the public to resolve issues and concerns; provides information or directs questions and requests to the appropriate staff; and performs related duties as assigned.
The District Attorney’s Office is seeking a highly capable and responsive Executive Assistant to serve as the direct administrative partner to the District Attorney. This is a high-trust, high-visibility position for a proactive, adaptable, dependable, and highly organized professional who takes pride in public service and thrives in a fast-paced law and justice environment. The ideal candidate anticipates needs, takes ownership of assignments, adjusts quickly as priorities change, and consistently follows through with accuracy, discretion, and professionalism.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and professional maturity are essential. The successful candidate will work closely with elected and appointed officials, law enforcement executives, attorneys, courts, County leadership, community partners, and the public, often on sensitive or high-profile matters. They must be discreet, composed, resourceful, and comfortable working behind the scenes where candid discussions, competing interests, and rapidly evolving circumstances are part of the job. This individual will independently manage executive calendaring and meeting logistics; prepare correspondence, reports, agendas, briefing materials, and meeting packets; coordinate with justice partners and County departments; and remain flexible and responsive when operational needs require support outside normal business hours.
Because this position has access to highly confidential law enforcement, prosecutorial, personnel, and executive information, the selected candidate must successfully complete a comprehensive background investigation prior to hire, similar in scope and depth to those used for sensitive law enforcement positions.
