Zusammenfassung

Depot Connect International (DCI) seeks an experienced HSE Manager to oversee safety at German sites, based in Duisburg or Mutterstadt. You will drive the safety management system, coordinate audits (ISO9001, BRZO, SQAS), and supervise BRZO-related activities while liaising with authorities and leading the HSE team.

Key responsibilities include incident investigations, documentation control, training coordination, and safeguarding compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations

• Ensuring execution and supervision of HSE control rounds and compliance with rules and procedures.
• Coordinating internal training sessions and safety awareness meetings.
• Maintaining contacts with local authorities.
• Responsible for VBS, safety studies, and BRZO matters.
• Promoting HSE metrics regionally and site-by-site.
• Conducting incident investigations and ensuring timely follow-up.

We are currently seeking a HSE Manager to cover our German sites based in either Duisburg or Mutterstadt.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for safety across all locations in Germany
• Managing documentation of the management system, particularly focusing on internal procedures and regulations, overall safety, occupational health, and the environment;
• Authorising changes in the management system related to internal procedures, safety, occupational health, and the environment;
• Authorising, recording, and distributing the quality manual, procedures, work instructions, forms, and driver handbooks;
• Planning, executing, and guiding internal and external audits, including ISO9001, BRZO, and SQAS;
• Ensuring the execution and supervision of HSE control rounds, focusing on compliance with prevailing HSE rules, guidelines, and procedures;
• Coordinating internal training sessions, courses, and safety awareness meetings;
• Ensuring compliance with company regulations;
• Maintaining contacts with various local authorities;
• Responsible for VBS (Safety Management System), safety studies, and other BRZO-related matters;
• Promote global HSE Metrics into a regional and site by site level, one DCI.
• Performing analyses related to registered deficiencies and coordinating and following up on structural corrective measures related to the SHE aspect;
• Supervising and maintaining the competency of Emergency Response Teams (BHV), in collaboration with the company fire regulations and fire authority
• Conducting incident and accident investigations and analysis. Aiming to have good solid investigations within (7 days)
• Monitoring developments in legislation and regulations and advising the Board of Directors on the impact of changes on the organization and the management system;
• Being part of the crisis management team with associated tasks and authorities;
• Mentoring the HSE team members;
• Performing tasks in accordance with company policies, the code of conduct, procedures, and instructions;
• Reviewing leave requests from team members and administering them in the necessary systems;
• Managing absenteeism during the illness of a team member in collaboration with HR.
• Be a Champion user of the various software systems: QUEST and LMS systems. Coach and promote these to the wider workforce.

Authorities

• Autonomously taking measures to ensure that various business activities are carried out in accordance with applicable regulations and requirements;
• Taking actions to ensure the resolution of deviations and incidents;
• (Unsolicited) Advising the Board of Directors;
• Conducting Risk Inventory & Evaluation with resulting actions;
• The ability to influence and change culture
• Completed HSE (Higher Vocational Education) or equivalent work experience;
• Completed higher vocational education in safety or equivalent;
• Knowledge of hazardous substances;
• Knowledge of BRZO regulations;
• Current knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation and preferably also of ADR;
• Experience in Chemical Logistics (Desirable)
• Proficiency in MS Office;
• Proficiency in German and English languages both written and verbal is Essential.
