Zusammenfassung

OPmobility is seeking an Engineering Project Lead to drive the technical execution of a projector development project for OEM customers in the Lighting business. You will lead the project team, coordinate activities, and be the main technical contact across internal and external stakeholders in an international context.

Responsibilities include delivering robust optical solutions on time and cost, managing the BOM and risks, driving DFMEA, DV/PV plans and PPAP, and supporting new business

Qualifikationen

• University degree in engineering or technical field.
• Minimum 2 years of technical project leadership experience.
• Experience in optics or lighting and automotive industry is a plus.
• Preferred is experience in automotive lighting, headlamps design, plastic injection or electronic design.
• Fluent in English; basic knowledge of German is ideal.
• Driving license B.

Aufgaben

• Lead and coordinate the projector project team to deliver robust optical solutions on time, quality and cost.

• Own product development tasks from concept to final design.
• Manage mechanical BOM, risks and opportunities, and ensure design/process standards.
• Support homologation and PPAP delivery in line with customer and legal requirements.
• Lead Technical Design Reviews and support tooling and validation activities as needed.
• Identify innovation and cost optimization through benchmarking and continuous improvement.
• Support new business development with technical input.
• Ensure IP protection for new design solutions with the legal team.

You will be responsible for leading the technical execution of an assigned projector development project for OEM customers, ensuring the delivery of robust and reliable optical solutions, on time, on quality and on cost, within the Lighting business.

You will coordinate the project team and technical activities within your assigned perimeter, acting as the key point of contact both internally and externally for the project, within an international context.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate the projector project team, ensuring delivery of robust and reliable optical solutions on time, on quality and on cost.
• Act as first point of contact for Lead Projector Engineers, including technical guidance.
• Own Product Development tasks for a successful development from concept through feasibility to the final product design.
• Manage the projector's mechanical BOM, risks & opportunities, and ensure application of VLS design/process standards and customer-specific requirements.
• Act as the main technical contact for internal/external stakeholders, from first concept through launch of serial production.
• Drive DFMEA, DV/PV plans, testing, certification and on‑time PPAP delivery, in line with customer and legal requirements.
• Lead Technical Design Reviews and support homologation, from OK2TOOL through launch.
• Identify innovation and cost‑optimization opportunities through benchmarking and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support new business development with technical input when needed.
• Ensure IP protection for new design solutions in coordination with the legal team.

Profile:

• University degree (Bachelor's, Master's or Dr.) with engineering or technical major.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in technical project leadership or technical project management.
• Experience in the optics or lighting sector and in the automotive industry is a plus.
• Preferred is experience in automotive lighting, headlamps design, plastic injection technology or electronic design.
• Strong coordination and communication skills, with daily experience presenting to and communicating with customers.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and international environment.
• Fluent in English; basic knowledge of German is ideal
• Driving license B.
