Jobbeschreibung

About the Role

At Camunda, our CI/CD infrastructure platform is treated as an internal product. Our mission is to build a platform that offers a Golden Path, enabling 150+ engineers across 20+ teams to deliver with world‑class velocity and uncompromising quality at scale, so Camunda engineers can focus on building the agentic technologies that will define our market leadership.

We are approaching a pivotal phase: an upcoming quality surge that will significantly increase testing volume and engineering throughput. Our platform must scale seamlessly, without increasing developer toil.

We are looking for an Engineering Manager who acts as a servant leader. You will guide a high‑leverage remote team of four infrastructure engineers and drive the evolution toward a scalable zero‑toil platform. At the organizational level, you will ensure that the right way is the easiest way, serving as an advocate for the engineers who rely on the platform every day.

If you’re excited about building autonomous, high‑leverage platform teams at scale, we’d love to talk!

What you’ll be doing:
  • Ensure we continuously deliver and improve our infrastructure platform.
  • Guide the team through massive reduction of manual work by employing an AI‑driven engineering approach. You will reach a zero‑touch scalable infrastructure, where AI handles dependency management, assists with incident resolution, cloud cost optimisation, and developer support—ensuring the team can handle increasing scope and scale without having to grow in size.
  • Quality surge: Prepare, define and ensure execution of the strategy for our CI/CD and artifact distribution systems to scale without increasing engineering toil.
  • Grow, mentor and coach a high‑leverage platform team of 4 Infrastructure engineers by setting clear expectations, giving actionable and timely feedback, and fostering a culture of empathy, autonomy, and continuous improvement, in an asynchronous, remote environment.
What you bring:
  • Ability and/or willingness to use our product.
  • People leadership experience: track record of growing engineers to senior and beyond senior levels.
  • Strong stakeholder leadership: ability to translate tech needs into actionable engineering roadmap and strategy, and implement that across teams.
  • Senior‑level technical depth and competency: Hands‑on experience with:
    • Cloud providers (e.g., GCP, AWS or similar)
    • Kubernetes (any distribution)
    • Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, ArgoCD or similar)
    • Scaling high‑load CI/CD systems (e.g., GitHub Actions with self‑hosted runners or similar).
  • Backend engineering background, fluent in at least one programming language (e.g., Python).
  • Comfortable at reviewing complex architecture and code; eager to contribute hands‑on when needed (e.g. to implement internal workflow automations).
  • Proven track record of ensuring team efficiency within remote, async‑first environments.
Nice‑to‑haves:
  • Experience transforming teams into AI‑native and/or automation‑first teams.
  • Background in technical product management or strong product thinking.
  • Experience implementing FinOps practices and accountability.
Compensation

We offer competitive, fair, and transparent compensation. Salary ranges are location‑based, with Standard and Major markets (global tech hubs) reflecting local competition.

The Annual Total Target Cash (base salary + 100% variable target, where applicable) spans from the minimum in a Standard market to the maximum in a Major market. Final offers depend on skills, experience, and location, and we typically hire in the first half of the range to allow room for growth:

  • United States: $172,600.00 to $278,300.00
  • Canada: C$183,300.00 to C$301,500.00
  • United Kingdom: £108,400.00 to £178,300.00
  • Singapore: S$214,400.00 to S$321,500.00

Equity: We also offer equity (where applicable) through our Virtual Stock Option Plan (VSOP).

Benefits & Perks

We invest in your wellbeing, growth, and ability to connect, along with perks that support you no matter where you’re based. Our benefits are globally designed and locally delivered where applicable.

  • Remote & Flexible: Work from anywhere with the setup that suits you, home office budget, co‑working space support, and flexible time off to recharge when you need it.
  • In Person Connection: We invest in meaningful face time through our Annual Kickoff (Vienna in 2025, Madrid in 2026!), team offsites, and Camundi Connection Budgets, including contributing to meetups while travelling, and local gatherings with fellow Camundi.
  • Health & Wellbeing: Access locally tailored healthcare, Modern Health for global mental wellbeing, and our Live Well Lifestyle Spending Account (LSA), a flexible, global benefit that puts you in control of your whole life, not just work.
  • Financial Security: Retirement and pension plans (often with company contributions), plus life and disability insurance where relevant.
  • Professional Growth: Up to €1,000 per year for self‑driven learning: courses, certifications, books, you decide!

Everyone is welcome at Camunda—it’s a celebrated component of our culture. We strive to create an inclusive environment that empowers our people. At Camunda, we honour diverse cultures and backgrounds and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
