LIGHT Q in Hamburg is seeking an Engineer: Electronics for ultrafast optics to design and maintain control and detection electronics for optical prototype systems, enabling translation of theoretical performance into real-world hardware.
You will collaborate with experts in optics, lasers, and ML-engineering. A master’s degree in electrical engineering and 5+ years in HF electronics and RF design are required, with hands-on problem-solving capability and enthusiasm for advancing photonics.
The demand for AI is rapidly outgrowing the electronic hardware it runs on. At LIGHT Q , we’re building next-generation computing to unlock sustainable AI: based on light, not electrons, and grounded in ultrafast laser technology, our platform is orders of magnitude faster and far more energy-efficient.We are a team of internationally recognised scientists, proficient engineers and seasoned operators. We build in Hamburg, one of the global epicentres of ultrafast photonics.
At LIGHT Q , cutting-edge technologies converge: ultrafast lasers, photonics, and electronics, creating next generation computing solutions. Working closely together with experts in optics, lasers and integrated photonics and ML-engineering, you will set up control and data transmission and signal detection electronics for optical prototype systems, simulates and designs RF electronic and electro-optical systems (including UHF and SHF), and equip and maintain electronics labs. You will enable translating theoretical performance at the intersection of electronics and optics into real-world systems.
If you are passionate about pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in photonics, working on something that genuinely matters and thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.
