Job summary

Primetals Technologies Germany GmbH is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer (m,w,d) to contribute to Linux and FPGA based control platforms. You will develop embedded software for ARM-based SoCs, configure embedded Linux, and implement real-time software for multi-core systems.

Collaboration with hardware partners and a development team is essential. The role requires a degree in Embedded Systems or related and experience with VHDL, Linux/PetaLinux, and FPGA/SoC integration.

Qualifications

• University degree in Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Architecture, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a comparable discipline.
• Practical experience in embedded software development using C/C++ and working with ARM-based SoCs, preferably AMD/Xilinx Zynq or Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC.
• Practical experience with VHDL for FPGA development, simulation and hardware/software integration.
• Experience with embedded Linux and PetaLinux, including board configuration, device trees, boot processes and driver integration.
• Familiarity with development and debugging tools such as Vivado, Vitis, Quartus and Similar.

Responsibilities

• Bring up new development boards and target hardware, investigate hardware/software integration issues and support systematic debugging.
• Develop and execute functional, integration, timing and load tests; document results and maintain reproducible build and release procedures.
• Work closely with a development team, and external hardware development partners.

- For Linux and PFGA Development

To support the development of our next generation of medium-voltage converters, we are looking for people who want to contribute their expertise in embedded software and FPGA development.

Your Responsibilities

Your Profile

• Willingness to undertake occasional business travel for technical meetings, collaboration with development partners, system integration, testing and commissioning.
• Good written and spoken English; German language skills are an advantage.
