Job summary

Eaton Group sucht einen erfahrenen Elektronikingenieur (PBC Design) zur Mitarbeit in der eMobility-Engineering-Abteilung. Sie arbeiten eng mit Entwicklung, Fertigung, Marketing und Kunden zusammen, um robuste Elektronik-Architekturen und -Lösungen zu liefern.

Sie tragen Verantwortung über das gesamte Lebenszyklus‑Management von Konzept bis Serienreife und unterstützen NPI/Produkt-Transfers weltweit.

Qualifications

• Mehrere Jahre Berufserfahrung in der Entwicklung elektronischer Produkte und Antriebsstränge in der Automobilindustrie.
• Grundkenntnisse in Automotive-Systemen und Bauteilen.
• Erfahrung im PCBA-Design und in Finaltests.
• Erfahrung mit Fehlerursachenanalysen und kontinuierlicher Verbesserung; EMI/EMC-Design.
• Kenntnisse zu Functional Safety gemäß ISO 26262.
• Technische Zeichnungen, Spezifikationen und Kundenspezifikationen interpretieren können.
• Gute Englischkenntnisse; Deutschkenntnisse vorteilhaft.

Responsibilities

• Untersuchung von Produktionsausfällen, Abweichungen und Kundenmeldungen; Wurzelursachenanalyse und Korrekturmaßnahmen.
• Entwicklung neuer Schaltgerätekonzepte für EV-Anwendungen.
• Hardware-Design unter Berücksichtigung vernetzter Funktionen und bestehender Abhängigkeiten.
• Übersetzung externer/interner Anforderungen in Systemlösungen; Hardware-Architekturen erstellen und warten.
• Unterstützung der Software-Entwicklung bei Hardware-Schnittstellen.
• Durchführung von FuSa-Aufgaben, FMEDA/FTA-Analysen; Sicherheitsdokumentationen.
• PCB-Layout-Entwicklung gemäß EMC-Standards; EMC/EE-Testpläne erstellen.
• Hardware-Lösungen zur Erreichung von ASIL gemäß ISO 26262 entwickeln.
• Systemanforderungen definieren und V-Modell-Entwicklung entsprechend ISO 26262 betreuen.
• Unterstützung von NPI und Produkt-Transfers von Design zu Produktion.

Currently we are seeking Senior Electronic Engineer (PBC Design)

The position is part of the eMobility Engineering department in Poland and can be based in Tczew, Poland, or Bonn, Germany. The Electronics Engineer will collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, and customers to develop product designs, resolve technical issues, and provide guidance on product performance and operation. Success in this role requires a strong technical foundation, attention to detail, and effective teamwork. The Electronics Engineer works closely with experienced engineers, technicians, and global engineering teams to deliver accurate, reliable designs and support. The role covers all stages of the product development lifecycle—from concept to series production as part of a global, dynamic, multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilties:

• Investigate production failures, non-conformances, and customer-reported issues, conducting root cause analyses and implementing corrective actions. Evaluate and implement engineering changes, ensuring proper documentation and a smooth transition into production.

• Develop new switching device concepts for use in electric vehicle (EV) applications.

• Design hardware while considering a wide range of interconnected functions and existing dependencies with other electrical and electromechanical product components.

• Translate external and internal requirements (e.g., technical specifications) into electronic system solutions consisting of multiple units and assemblies. Create and maintain hardware architectures for electronic assemblies and modules.

• Support software development teams in defining hardware-software interfaces.

• Perform Functional Safety (FuSa) tasks, contribute to FMEDA and FTA analyses, and prepare Safety Manuals.

• Design PCB layouts and hardware units in compliance with relevant EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) standards. Develop EMC and EE test plans and implement required corrective actions in the event of test failures.

• Develop hardware solutions to achieve the required Automotive Safety Integrity Levels (ASIL) in accordance with ISO 26262.

• Define system requirements and take ownership of related elements throughout the entire V-Model development process in compliance with ISO 26262.

• Support new product introductions (NPI) and product transfers from design to manufacturing.

• Partner with the New Product Introduction (NPI) and Project Engineering teams during product development and launch phases to ensure manufacturability and production readiness.

• Support pilot builds, product validation, process qualification, and production ramp-up activities for new projects.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related field.

• Several years of professional experience in the development of electronic products and drive systems within the automotive industry.

• Basic understanding of automotive systems and components.

• Experience in PCBA design and knowledge of final product testing.

• Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies, as well as electronics design for EMI/EMC compliance.

• Knowledge of Functional Safety in accordance with ISO 26262.

• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.

• Good command of English; German language skills are an advantage.
