An opportunity is available for an experienced Electrical Authorised Person (AP) to take responsibility for the safe operation, control, and management of LV and MV electrical systems across projects. This is a safety-critical role focused on ensuring compliance, system reliability, and the safe execution of energisation, isolation, and maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the designated Authorised Person for LV and MV systems.
- Issue, manage, and coordinate Permits to Work.
- Carry out safe isolation, switching, and energisation procedures.
- Support the planning and execution of LV & MV energisation and maintenance activities.
- Ensure full compliance with electrical legislation, company procedures, and technical standards.
- Supervise contractors and oversee electrical works on site.
- Conduct electrical safety audits, fault investigations, and produce detailed reports.
- Maintain accurate system documentation, drawings, and switching schedules.
- Participate in emergency response and fault rectification activities.
Candidate Profile
- Recognised electrical engineering or trade qualification.
- Formal Authorised Person (LV/MV) certification or training.
- Strong knowledge of LV & MV power distribution systems.
- Thorough understanding of safe systems of work and electrical safety legislation.
- Experience with switching schedules, isolations, and energisation procedures.
- Proven background in electrical operations within critical or complex environments.
- Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and lead safety-critical tasks.
