We are partnering with a leading general contractor seeking an experienced Authorised Person to join their team on a permanent basis, supporting the delivery of major Data Centre projects.

Requirements

• Engage early in the project with the Site Management team to implement the agreed Electrical Safe Systems of Work Procedure under guidance from the Lead Appointed Person.
• Ensure all site personnel understand and comply with the Electrical Safe Systems of Work.
• Issue and manage permits for all energised work activities within the defined scope.
• Review and interpret project specifications and drawings to identify project-specific requirements.
• Adhere to strict operational procedures and comply with all High Voltage Safety Rules.
• Understand basic electrical protection behaviour under fault conditions.
• Complete safety documentation and manage lockout/tagout procedures and protocols.
• Conduct reviews of switchgear distribution topology and control systems prior to start-up.
• Support and coordinate with specialist Testing & Commissioning contractors to conduct early-stage reviews, validate commissioning sequences, and agree test scripts.
• Liaise with control system providers (SCADA/BMS/EMS, etc.) to support system handover activities under the established permit control schedule and procedures.

Skills & Qualifications

• Relevant third-level qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or an Electrical Trade with suitable training and experience.
• Minimum of 5+ years' experience in a similar role within an electrical contracting environment, ideally across commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, or data centre projects.
• Experience working on MV/HV systems, with prior ‘Authorised Person’ or ‘Appointed Person’ responsibilities.
• Preferably holding S1 authorisation (all voltages) or S2 (up to 1000V).
• Minimum 3 years' experience in electrical testing and verification.
• Valid HV switching certification.
• Process-focused, with strong attention to EHS standards and Quality Work Management Systems.
