What to Expect

Tesla Energy is deploying commercial battery storage at a scale and speed no one else is matching — and we need an EHS Specialist to help us do it safely across EMEA. You'll work directly on some of the largest energy infrastructure projects in Europe, from design through energization, shaping how we protect people while building a future of amazing abundance. The ideal candidate is self‑motivated, thrives in both independent and collaborative work, and brings strong organizational, communication, and detail‑oriented skills to a fast‑paced environment. You'll have direct exposure to Tesla's global EHS leadership and a clear path to grow as our EMEA energy footprint expands. This position is based in Germany, requires regional travel (up to 30%) with occasional international trips, and demands fluency in English and German.

What You’ll Do
  • Serve as a key member of the EHS team, supporting Energy leadership, project/construction managers, front‑line staff, and contractors with a proactive, can‑do mindset to enable effective EHS execution.
  • Identify, elevate, and support mitigation of EHS risks and compliance issues across all phases of operations through proactive field observations, assurance activities, and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Provide EHS support for compliance and risk management in the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of commercial energy infrastructure across EMEA.
  • Conduct training sessions, inspections, event learnings, and emergency preparedness initiatives to influence daily operations and drive EHS improvements aligned with Tesla's vision for sustainable energy.
  • Respond to EHS events by supporting root cause analysis, developing preventative actions, and promoting Human & Organizational Performance principles in collaboration with management and teams.
  • Support contractual EHS deliverables and pre‑construction compliance with EMEA regulations (e.g., CDM 2015, EU‑OSHA Directives), including developing Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Contribute to contractor management within EMEA, including onboarding, performance monitoring, and EHS alignment using Tesla's workforce management system.
What You’ll Bring
  • Hands‑on experience in construction, EPC, or energy operations, including developing RAMS, EHS Management Plans, and site setups.
  • Knowledge of European EHS regulations (e.g., CDM 2015, EU Directives) and familiarity with global standards (e.g., ISO 45001).
  • Fluency in English required; proficiency in French, Dutch, or German highly desirable to support multinational collaboration.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment using a 'first‑principles' approach.
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in EHS, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent certifications preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 Suite; strong documentation and reporting skills.
  • Experience in renewable energy, battery storage, or grid‑scale infrastructure a plus.
