Discover International is seeking an EHS Officer to build and lead the site health, safety and environmental framework from project phase into routine GMP operations at a German site.

You will serve as the legally appointed Safety Engineer, manage regulatory relations with German authorities, secure operating permits, and oversee occupational health and safety programs.

Qualifikationen

• Proven experience in chemical/biotech/pharma manufacturing with direct dealings with local German authorities.
• Fluency in German (native/C1) with strong technical English.

Aufgaben

• Statutory Compliance: act as site Sifa under German law (ASiG), conduct risk assessments.
• Authority Relations: lead interactions with local authorities for operating permits, biosafety, and hazardous materials.
• Waste & Energy Governance: secure legal permit frameworks for waste management and drive energy efficiency reporting (EnEfG).
• Site Security: oversee physical security standards and outsourced security service providers.

We are supporting a growing biopharmaceutical manufacturing organisation as they prepare a GMP site for operational readiness. We are looking for an EHS Officer to build and lead the site health, safety and environmental framework from project phase into routine GMP operations.

Position Summary:

Serves as the legally appointed Safety Engineer. Manages relations with German regulatory authorities, secures operating permits, and oversees occupational health and safety programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Statutory Compliance: Act as site Sifa under German law (ASiG), conducting risk assessments and safety inductions.
• Authority Relations: Lead interactions with local authorities for operating permits, biosafety, and hazardous materials.
• Waste & Energy Governance: Secure legal permit frameworks for waste management and drive energy efficiency reporting (EnEfG).
• Site Security: Oversee physical security standards and outsourced security service providers.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a chemical, biotech, or pharmaceutical manufacturing setting dealing directly with local German agencies.
• Native or C1 fluent German with strong technical English.
