Zusammenfassung

Tenneco is seeking a Site EHS Manager for our manufacturing site in Germany. The role leads the EHS organization, integrates regulatory requirements with operational needs, and drives continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance.

The successful candidate will partner with site leadership to develop and implement EHS policies, coordinate risk management, investigations, and training, and foster a proactive safety culture aligned with corporate targets.

Qualifikationen

  • 5+ years in EHS with leadership and strategic planning experience.
  • Automotive industry experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Solid risk management and incident investigation methodologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

Jobbeschreibung

The Site EHS Manager is responsible for managing, developing, and implementing Environment, Health & Safety activities in the assigned manufacturing site. This role drives corporate standards and continuous improvement in EHS performance, strengthens safety culture, and partners with the site leadership team to reduce operational risks. The Site EHS Manager acts as the motor for EHS at the site, ensuring implementation of corporate standards, regulatory requirements and best practises. The Site EHS Manager develops smart solutions to integrate EHS requirements into the operational processes by bringing EHS requirements and operational requirements in line with each other.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy & Leadership: Lead and develop the EHS organization at the assigned site by providing support and coaching to EHS Specialists and Supervisors, if applicable.
  • Operational Integration: Support plants in achieving an efficient deployment of the new EHS policies, programs and objectives, including bringing on the table resource gaps and adjustments necessary in the rolling out of specific programs, policies or objectives and including mapping and follow up of EHS cases at the plants (e.g. permits/authorizations gaps, EHS compliance gaps, citations/visits by local authorities, stakeholder complaints, remediation projects, etc.).
  • Compliance & Risk Management: The Site EHS Manager ensures integrating EHS into operational processes and drives smart, risk managing measures in alignment with the site leadership team. The Site EHS Manager also develops ideas and suggestions for the annual EHS Actionplan together based on the requirements of the site and in line corporate targets and actions and facilitates training on EHS topics.
  • Performance Reporting: Tracks and reports on key EHS metrics to internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serving as the main contact point for lokal stakeholders, like the works council.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Drive compliance with local, state, federal, and international regulations (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 50001), organization of inspections and reducing operational risks.
  • Operational Oversight: Drives incident investigations and manages risks.

The Site EHS Manager coordinates the site in facilitating good communication and cooperation, including identification of site-specific needs and conditions, information on new Tenneco EHS Processes, sharing of incidents/root causes/corrective actions, best practices and constrains in implementation.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Cultural Development: Drive ICECo EMEA’s proactive safety culture through training, behavioral-based safety programs, and communication.
  • Plant Budget Management: Plan the site’s EHS budget, vendor contracts, and sustainability initiatives in line with cost saving and continuous improvement initiatives in alignment with the Regional EHS Manager.
Health & Safety
  • Strategy and Actionplan: Develops suggestions and focus topics for the annual H&S-Actionplan together with the site and in line corporate targets and actions.
  • Risk Management: Manages the H&S risks at the site and pushes for high velocity on risk mitigation based on H&S requirements and operational requirements.
  • Reporting: Ensures accuracy & completeness of site H&S reporting.
  • Cultural Development: Support ICECo EMEA’s proactive safety culture through training, behavioral-based safety programs, and communication.
  • Strategy and Actionplan: Develops suggestions and focus topics for the annual Environmental-Actionplan together with the site and in line corporate targets.
  • Risk Management: Manages environmental risks at the site and pushes for high velocity on risk mitigation based on Environmental requirements and operational requirements.
  • Reporting: Ensures accuracy & completeness of site Environmental reporting.
  • Cultural Development: Support ICECo EMEA’s sustainability culture through training, behavioral-based safety programs, and communication.
  • Insurance: Manages requirements for fire insurance and defines actions.
  • Risk Management: Manages fire risks at the site and ensures high velocity on risk mitigation based on fire safety requirements and operational requirements.
Authority
  • Stop Work: Issues a stop of production or any other activity in the event of any emergency, accident, incident or intolerable risk that presents a significant safety hazard for individuals or assets, and/or which consequence would have a significant environmental impact in alignment with the Regional EHS Lead.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience: Typically 5+ years in EHS, including first experience in leadership and strategic planning roles. Experience in automotive industry is preferred. Strong knowledge of international EHS standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001). Solid understanding of risk management and incident investigation methodologies.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications like CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), IEMA (Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment), NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health), CMSE (Certified Machinery Safety Expert) or other local EHS certifications. Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills to manage risk, report to leadership, and drive change. Strong strategic thinking, leadership, communication, collaboration, and change management skills. Fluency in English; additional languages preferred.
