Zusammenfassung

Waters is seeking an experienced Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) leader to oversee all German manufacturing facilities. You will drive regulatory compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement across operations.

In this role you will partner with site leadership, liaise with authorities, and ensure ISO14001/ISO45001 compliance. Fluent German and English are required, and you will build a proactive safety culture across the site.

Qualifikationen

  • Degree in engineering, environmental science, occupational safety, or related discipline.
  • Several years of experience in EHS within a manufacturing or operational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of German EHS legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience implementing and managing EHS management systems.

Aufgaben

  • Provide leadership and oversight for EHS to all Germany manufacturing facilities.
  • Ensure full regulatory compliance with applicable regulatory, corporate and ISO management system requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement in EHS performance, culture, and operational excellence.
  • Partner with site leadership to integrate EHS into business processes and decision-making.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities and external stakeholders.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs, policies, and procedures in line with legal and corporate requirements.
  • Lead risk assessments, hazard identification, and implementation of appropriate control measures.
  • Support the development of safety analyses, operating procedures, and risk evaluations.
  • Drive a proactive safety culture including incident and near-miss reporting, investigation, and root cause analysis.
  • Deliver EHS training programs and build capability across employees, supervisors, and leadership.
  • Manage and continuously improve environmental and safety management systems (e.g. ISO14001, ISO45001).
  • Ensure compliant waste management processes including storage, handling, and disposal.
  • Prepare and report EHS KPIs locally and within the regional/global matrix organisation.
  • Plan and conduct internal audits and support external inspections and regulatory audits.
  • Collaborate with works councils, occupational health providers, regulatory authorities, and professional associations.
  • Work closely with safety representatives, first aiders, fire wardens, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain emergency preparedness and business continuity measures.
  • Provide expert guidance to leadership on EHS risks, compliance obligations, and improvement opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external agencies.

Job Description
Main Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight for Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) to all Germany manufacturing facilities. Provide EHS support to regional field organisations.
  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable regulatory, corporate and ISO management system requirements.
