Zusammenfassung

SilverBack is recruiting an EHS Advisor (m/w/d) for the MUC4.3 Data Centre Project in Cologne, Germany, on a 1-year fixed-term contract. The role demands hands-on safety leadership on a busy site and close collaboration with the project team and subcontractors.

You will manage safety management systems, conduct audits, review RAMS, PTW, and COSHH, lead incident investigations, and report KPIs. English required; German knowledge recommended.

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years of EHS experience in heavy commercial construction, industrial, or mission-critical data centre/MEP projects.
• Professional proficiency in English and conversational/working knowledge of German.
• EU Citizenship or valid working visa/permit for Germany.
• Knowledge of German H&S legislation (ArbSchG, Baustellenverordnung, DGUV), MEP oversight experience, and strong site communication skills.

Aufgaben

• Ensure strict adherence to Safety Management Systems, Project Execution Plans, and Client EHS Plans.
• Conduct daily site inspections and safety audits, document findings, track corrective actions, and resolve non-conformances.
• Review RAMS, Risk Assessments, Safe Plans of Action (SPA), and Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems prior to high-risk works.
• Lead EHS site orientations and inductions for site personnel and subcontractors in compliance with German regulations.
• Manage COSHH assessments and enforce proper handling and storage of hazardous substances.
• Lead incident/accident investigations, perform root cause analyses, and implement preventative protocols.
• Track and report safety performance indicators, interventions, near-misses, and toolbox talks.
• Serve as primary on-site EHS point of contact for project teams, client representatives, trade contractors, and local authorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Site Operations & Safety Management: Ensure strict adherence to company Safety Management Systems, Project Execution Plans, and Client EHS Plans.
• Audits & Inspections: Conduct daily site inspections and regular safety audits, document findings, track corrective actions, and resolve non‑conformances.
• Documentation & Permits: Review task‑specific Method Statements (RAMS), Risk Assessments, Safe Plans of Action (SPA), and Permit‑to‑Work (PTW) systems prior to high‑risk works.
• Subcontractor Management: Lead EHS site orientations and inductions for site personnel and subcontractors in compliance with German regulations.
• COSHH & Hazardous Materials: Manage COSHH assessments and enforce proper handling and storage of hazardous substances.
• Incident Management: Lead incident/accident investigations, perform root cause analyses (RCA), and implement preventative protocols.
• KPI Tracking & Reporting: Track and report safety performance indicators, interventions, near‑misses, and toolbox talks (TBTs).
• Communication & Coordination: Serve as primary on‑site EHS point of contact for project teams, client representatives, trade contractors, and local authorities.

Requirements

• Experience: 3+ years of EHS experience in heavy commercial construction, industrial, or mission‑critical data centre/MEP projects.
• Language Skills: Professional proficiency in English and conversational/working knowledge of German.
• Work Authorization: EU Citizenship or valid working visa/permit for Germany.
• Desirable: Knowledge of German H&S legislation (ArbSchG, Baustellenverordnung, DGUV), MEP oversight experience, and strong site communication skills.
