A leading educational institution in Germany is looking for a part-time Doctoral Student to support a research project on conflict management in diverse workplaces. The role requires a Master's degree in Business Administration or a related field and includes responsibilities such as developing research questions and statistical analysis. The position is part of the externally funded project Managing conflict in the workplace: The role of leader & employee age and is limited for the duration of three years at the Department of Organization & Human Resource Management at the Faculty of Business Studies & Economics (Prof. Frank Walter). The salary is in accordance with the collective labour agreement of the State of Hessen (E 13 TV-H). The project will be conducted in close cooperation with the Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences at the University of Groningen (Prof. Susanne Scheibe, Dr. Kyriaki Fousiani).
The research project comprises a series of quantitative studies that examine the role of leaders- and employees- age for (a) the use of specific conflict management strategies and (b) the consequences of such strategies; Its goal is to promote a novel, comprehensive understanding of the management of leader-employee conflicts in an increasingly older and age-diverse workforce.
Completed Master's or equivalent university degree in Business Administration, Management, or Work/Organizational/Industrial/Social Psychology (with an emphasis on Organizational Behavior and/or Leadership), with very good performance.
