The Institute of Biochemistry in the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy at the University of Münster, Germany, is seeking to fill the position of a

at the earliest possible date. We are offering a fixed-term part-time position (65%) for 3 years.

Responsibilities
  • This position is tied to working towards a doctorate
  • collaboration in research and teaching
  • participation in maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Chemical Biology and biochemical research focusing on the interaction between proteins and RNA in the context of mRNA degradation
Qualifications
  • A graduate degree in chemical biology, biochemistry, chemistry or closely related disciplines with a molecular focus is required (i.e. German Diplom and / or master’s degree).
  • A good understanding of molecular biology and biophysics (especially molecular cloning, protein expression and purification) is required.
  • A good understanding of peptide synthesis is required.
  • Basic knowledge of RNA-binding proteins is desirable
  • Basic knowledge of Linux is desirable.
  • Good command of written and spoken English is required.
  • German language skills would be advantageous but are not a requirement.
  • Teamwork, communication skills, organisational skills and the ability to work independently are required.
