We are seeking a Director, Medical Affairs, Rare Diseases - Europe to join our Medical Affairs team. In this hybrid role, you will lead medical strategy and scientific engagement across investigational and approved therapies in rare diseases.

Working closely with Global Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, HEOR, Medical Operations, Publications and Statistics, you will drive evidence generation, build scientific partnerships and translate external insights into strategic recommendations supporting patient needs and medical excellence.

When & where: Munich (Hybrid)

Discover your role: Lead medical strategies and tactical plans across assigned rare disease assets and therapeutic areas. Provide scientific and medical leadership throughout pre-launch, launch and post-launch phases. Establish scientific partnerships with healthcare professionals, researchers, advocacy organisations, payers and other external stakeholders. Drive evidence generation through Medical Affairs studies, data analysis, publications and scientific communication plans. Translate clinical and country insights into recommendations supporting medical strategy, patient access and value demonstration. Manage complex priorities, budgets and timelines while maintaining scientific integrity and compliance. You bring a collaborative, patient-focused approach to scientific leadership and external engagement.

This role requires: MD, DO, PharmD, PhD or an equivalent advanced scientific or clinical degree. Minimum 8 years of Medical Affairs experience with increasing responsibility. Expertise in rare diseases and/or genetic medicine. Experience leading medical strategy, scientific communications and evidence generation. Strong understanding of drug development and lifecycle management. Fluency in English and willingness to travel nationally and internationally approximately 30–50%. Experience in rare genetic diseases, gene therapy, regenerative medicine or rare bone, muscle or cardiovascular disorders preferred. Product launch, clinical trial, publication or field Medical Affairs leadership experience preferred. Multi-country experience and additional languages preferred.

Salary Range (annually) €125,250.00 - €208,750.00
