Qualifications

  • At least 5-7 years in Market Access roles in Germany.
  • Proven AMNOG process knowledge; Swiss reimbursement knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong expertise in pricing, reimbursement, and market access strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead regional market access strategies for designated therapeutic areas with timeline oversight.
  • Support development of value propositions with clinical and health economic evidence for Germany.
  • Build relationships with health authorities, payers, industry bodies, and patient groups.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement regional market access and public affairs strategies.

Our client is an innovative international pharmaceutical company seeking an experienced Director – Market Access & Public Affairs to support the development and execution of market access strategies across Germany.

This strategic role combines market access, pricing and reimbursement, public affairs, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional leadership to ensure successful product access throughout the product lifecycle. This a permanent role based in Munich area, Switzerland.

Director Market Access and Public Affairs - Germany – 7102

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead the coordination and execution of regional market access strategies for designated therapeutic areas, ensuring effective implementation, project management, timeline oversight, and risk management.
  • Support the development of compelling product value propositions, including clinical and health economic evidence, to optimize pricing and reimbursement outcomes across Germany
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with external stakeholders, including health authorities, payer organizations, industry associations, and patient advocacy groups.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of regional market access and public affairs strategies in close collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with regional and global colleagues to align strategic priorities and ensure successful execution of market access initiatives.
  • Monitor healthcare policy developments, reimbursement landscapes, and market trends across Germany, assessing their potential impact on the business.
  • Foster strong internal collaboration across medical, commercial, regulatory, government affairs, and market access functions.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, industry regulations, compliance requirements, and internal company policies.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Relevant working/residency permit and/or EU-Citizenship required;
  • University degree in Health Economics, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 10 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry
  • At least 5-7 years in Market Access roles across the German market.
  • Proven experience with the German healthcare system and the AMNOG process; knowledge of the Swiss reimbursement environment is considered an advantage
  • Strong expertise in pricing, reimbursement, and market access strategy, particularly within innovative or specialty pharmaceutical environments.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting products from pre-launch through commercialization.
  • Sound knowledge of health economics, payer evidence generation, and healthcare policy.
  • Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional projects and manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong project management, vendor management, and strategic planning capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
  • Fluent German and English, both written and spoken.
