Veeam Software is seeking a senior leader to own data governance and AI-ready data strategy. You will run Databricks Unity Catalog and Atlan, implementing a federated, standards-based model with centralized governance and distributed ownership. Lead complex, visible initiatives and establish a scalable lineage and certification framework.

You will influence senior leaders, shape governance standards, and drive end-to-end data quality across source systems to dashboards and AI outputs.

About the Role

Are you a curious builder who thrives in a fast-moving, data-driven execution role, curious about how AI can turn quality data into real, operational trust?

Veeam’s business runs on data flowing from four source systems, v-Power for Sales, Marketo forMarketing, NetSuite for Finance, and Workday for HR, through a governed Databricks Lakehouse to certified outputs consumed by Tableau dashboards and AI agents. The Senior Director, AI-Ready Data Governance has authored the strategy for how this gets governed: a federated, pragmatic model, central standards, distributed ownership, sequenced by outcome so scope is committed on evidence rather than ambition.Continuous, agent-driven scoring keeps watching a certified object’s quality on an ongoing basis, well past the moment of sign-off.

This is a builder and executive rolefor a deep subject matter expert, with full autonomy to move fast and deliver results. You will leadhighly complex, high-visibility initiatives, shape the approach to problems that arrive ambiguous, and influence organizational direction through the standards you set. The strategy, mission, and vision are set. The job is to run Databricks Unity Catalog as the technical backbone and Atlan as the business-facing catalog on top of it, build the certified Bronze-to-Silver-to-Goldpipeline domain by domain, and make certification, lineage, and continuous scoring real enough that governance becomes a standing rhythm rather than a one-off exercise. AI tooling is moving fastenoughthat the sequence of what gets builtwhenwill keep shifting. What does not shift is the outcome bar: certified data, a live trust score behind it, and a named owner for both.

This is a job for someone who is curious by default. Someone who would rather have an agent draft the first pass of a lineage map than wait for a meeting about it, who gets energy from ambiguity because the pace of AI tooling means the plan will keep changing, and who treats data quality as something they are personally accountable for at every level, source system to dashboard to agent output, ahead of whatever a report tells them after the fact.

What You’ll Do

• Run Databricks Unity Catalog and Atlan as the technical and business-facing backbone of certification, domain by domain
• Stand up continuous, agent-driven scoring behind certified data: a live trust score that keeps evaluating after certification, with an automated action attached to it
• Own the executive intelligence reporting that gives leadership a real, current answer to how much of Veeam’s data can be trusted right now, and why
• Register and govern the AI agents that consume Veeam’s data, and use agentic tools yourself, daily, to do the work faster.
• Aligndiversebusiness domain anddata owners across Sales, Marketing, Finance, and HR on adefinedset of standards.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field such asBusiness,data science, information systems, ora quantitativediscipline, or equivalent practical experience
• 7+ years of experience in enterprise data governance, data management, orGTM
• Hands-on experience running enterprise data governance in production with a demonstratedtrack recorddriving a data and AI governance program end toend:setting the standards, getting distributed owners to adopt them, and holding the outcome
• Working knowledge of Databricks Unity Catalog and a business-facing catalog layer such as Atlan, including what it takes to certify a metric end to end
• Daily use of Claude, Claude Code, or a comparable agent as a core working tool, plus the ability to set guardrails for how others use one
• Demonstrated ability to influence organizational direction and shape senior-leader decisions as an individual contributor, without relying on positional authority

Bonus Skills

• Direct experience with v-Power or comparable CRM extension platforms in aSalesOperations or Revenue Intelligence context
• Demonstrated change management experience, moving organizations from resistance to adoption through structured engagement
• Depth inAI asset governance, including model registration, MCP service governance, and agentic system access control, ideally with Unity AI Gateway
• Experience with Microsoft Purview for sensitivity classification in Azure and Microsoft 365 environments
• SOC 2 Type II audit experience, particularly data processing integrity and access control evidence
• Experience in a PE-backed or pre-IPO technology company navigating rapid growth
• Background in data mesh, data product operating models, or MDM for customer and product entity resolution
• External contributionsindataplatform, governance, or AI infrastructure, and familiarity with DAMA-DMBOK frameworks

Compensation Transparency

Veeam is committed to pay transparency and equitable compensation. For this role, the compensation range below reflects the expected total target compensation (TTC), inclusive of base pay and a competitive performance-based bonus. For roles with a commission plan, the compensation range represents On Target Earnings (OTE), which includes base salary plus variable commission. When determining compensation, Veeam takes into consideration factors such as experience, education, skills, and geographic zone. Offers are typically made below the midpoint of the range.

In addition to compensation, Veeam provides a comprehensive benefits package, including health coverage, retirement plans, and unlimited time off.
