Build early commercial partnerships across the data centre market

Would you like to shape how NKT engages with customers across the growing data centre segment? As Director, Business Development Data Centers, you will establish early commercial relationships, develop qualified opportunities and coordinate a OneNKT approach across business lines. This international role offers the opportunity to support NKT's growth journey while contributing to the infrastructure needed for the green transition.

Develop strategic data centre opportunities across selected markets

You will manage front-end business development across the data centre ecosystem, engaging customers and partners before formal tendering begins. By understanding customer priorities and coordinating internal stakeholders, you will help shape commercial positioning and prepare qualified opportunities for handover to the relevant business line. You will also contribute to NKT's data centre go‑to‑market strategy and provide structured insights into market dynamics, customer needs, competitors and portfolio gaps.

Your responsibility will be to:

  • Map and prioritise target customers, projects and decision‑makers
  • Build relationships with developers, operators, EPC contractors, integrators and OEMs
  • Develop and manage qualified opportunities through early customer engagement
  • Coordinate customer activities across NKT business lines and functions
  • Support partnership discussions, market analysis and management updates

The position may be based in London, Runcorn, Teesside, Cologne, Berlin, Malmö, Karlskrona or Copenhagen. Planned travel of more than 50 days per year is expected, including customer meetings, industry forums and partner discussions.

Commercial relationship builder with a collaborative working style

You communicate clearly with people at different organisational levels and create trust through a consistent and considered approach. You are comfortable working across functions, balancing several stakeholder perspectives and maintaining structure as opportunities develop. Curiosity, sound judgement and an ability to translate discussions into practical next steps will help you work effectively in an international and matrix‑based organisation.

You also have:
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Economics or a related field
  • Experience in business development, strategic sales, key account management or go‑to‑market roles within electrical infrastructure, electrical components or power solutions
  • Experience with complex solution selling
  • Established network and experience within the data centre ecosystem, including developers, operators, EPC contractors, integrators or OEMs
  • A record of developing senior external and internal relationships and early‑stage commercial opportunities
  • Fluent English
