A global cloud service provider in Berlin is seeking experienced systems engineers to lead operations and development teams for the European Sovereign Cloud initiative. The ideal candidate will manage AWS services while ensuring high availability and reliability. Proficiency in systems engineering and relevant scripting languages is essential for this role, which offers unique opportunities for professional growth and team collaboration.
AWS is set to introduce the inaugural European Sovereign Cloud (ESC). To spearhead this initiative, we are actively seeking experienced systems engineers with a strong background in automation and operations. As part of the AWS Managed Operations team, you will play a pivotal role in building and leading operations and development teams dedicated to delivering high-availability AWS services, including EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock, exclusively for EU customers. Utility Computing (UC) – European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) is part of AWS UC. AWS UC provides innovations from foundational services such as Amazon S3 and EC2 to ongoing new product innovations that differentiate AWS. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, IoT, Platform, and Productivity Apps services. Within AWS UC, Managed Operations engineers engage with AWS customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.
Embark on a week filled with meaningful contributions to the operation and improvement of significant software systems. You will review the operational health of services within your team’s responsibility, identify anomalies, and craft actionable bug reports to enhance efficiency and performance. You will provide constructive feedback on change management documents, address the operational backlog, and develop and test scripts to improve workflows. You will also share insights on the European Sovereign Cloud with service teams to foster knowledge sharing. This role includes 24x7 on-call responsibility; you will work as a team to root-cause issues and ensure systems remain resilient and fault-tolerant.
