Job summary

Digital Waffle in Berlin is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer who will own reliability and performance of production systems. You will design robust, scalable architectures and drive incidents to resolution while embedding SRE practices like SLIs, SLOs and post-mortems.

You will build CI/CD pipelines, advance observability, and automate operations, collaborating with software engineers to modernise and secure infrastructure in a hybrid environment. Hybrid work in Berlin offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, Platform Engineering or a similar role.
• Strong hands-on experience running production workloads on cloud platforms.
• Solid understanding of Linux and distributed systems.
• Experience with Terraform or another Infrastructure as Code tool.
• Strong CI/CD experience and practical Kubernetes/container experience.
• Experience building meaningful monitoring and observability.
• Understanding of SRE principles beyond the title.
• Experience handling incidents and improving systems after them.
• Ability to modernise legacy infrastructure thoughtfully.
• Knowledge of cloud security and cost optimisation.
• Programming experience with Python or Go.
• Bonus: hybrid/on-premise environments or ISO 27001/SOC 2 familiarity.
