Zusammenfassung

ZEISS SMT GmbH in Germany is seeking a motivated scientist/engineer to join the Irradiation Testing team. You will gradually take on operational and technical responsibility for experimental systems and become their primary point of contact.

Structured onboarding, independent work within agreed processes, and close team coordination are key. German or English communication is welcome, and hands-on lab experience in physics, optics, or related fields is highly valued.

Qualifikationen

• You bring a solid science/engineering background in one of these areas: Technical Physics, Applied Photonics, Optical Engineering, Laser Technology, Optoelectronics, or equivalent.
• You can design and operate experimental setups and measurement techniques (e.g., optical metrology, environmental controls) and you have lab experience (e.g., student work, experimental thesis, or relevant professional experience).
• You describe yourself as self-driven, organized, and pragmatic.
• You are comfortable coordinating closely with the team and communicating in German or English when needed.
• Knowledge in solid-state physics/material science, basic understanding of chemical processes, and capabilities in programming, electronics, control systems, construction, or gas technologies are a plus.
• We’ll fill any knowledge gaps together with our well-proven onboarding approach.
• You’re willing to take responsibility for lab infrastructure and safety.
