Zusammenfassung

Rocket Factory Augsburg is seeking a Development Engineer (m/f/d) in Augsburg to lead the system design of the upper stage and its fluidic components. You will own the lifecycle from concept through hardware integration and post-flight analysis, ensuring reliable system requirements and close collaboration with Propulsion, Analysis and Testing teams.

The role requires a degree in Aerospace Engineering, 2+ years in related design work, CAD proficiency (Siemens NX preferred), and business-level

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Aerospace engineering.
• 2+ years in the design/development of lightweight structures or fluidic systems for spacecraft applications.
• Experience with thermal control hardware (e.g., multilayer insulation, heat pipes, heaters) is a plus.
• Proficient with CAD software (Siemens NX or equivalent).
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Hands-on experience in a testing or operations environment.
• Basic knowledge of launch vehicles and subsystems.
• Familiar with medium- and high-pressure pneumatic systems.
• Business-level English.

Aufgaben

• Be the system owner of various structures and/or fluidic systems on the upper stage of the launch vehicle.
• Take ownership of the entire product lifecycle from concept to hardware integration and post-flight analysis.
• Define and maintain requirements with a strong focus on system reliability.
• Create CAD models of components and assemblies.
• Collaborate with the testing team to qualify the systems.
• Support the AIT team and resolve non-conformances.
• Closely work with peers from Propulsion, Analysis and Testing.

About the Team

We are looking for a motivated Development Engineer (m/f/d) at our home base in Augsburg with experience in orbital stage design & development. This is a rare opportunity allowing you to be involved in demanding development efforts that are supported by parallel test campaigns allowing us to close short-iteration development cycles at fast pace. You will work in a dedicated, dynamic and international environment that aims for excellence by creating high-performance engineering solutions while keeping production costs at an absolute minimum.

Your Qualifications
