Zusammenfassung

ENERCON GmbH is seeking a Core Job Engineer IV to advance thermal simulations for wind turbine components. You will develop the toolchain for CFD, perform simulations on generators, e-nacelles, and electrical cabinets within the product development process.

The role requires a strong background in mechanical or aerospace engineering, 5+ years of CFD experience with OpenFOAM, Python programming, and leadership in technical projects.

Qualifikationen

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Process Engineering, Physics or equivalent; PhD optional.
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience or PhD.
  • Experience with CFD simulations of internal flow and heat transfer.
  • Experience developing cooling concepts for e-nacelles, generators, cabinets and related components.
  • Programming skills in Python and experience with Git or SVN.
  • Proven track record in technical project leadership within wind turbine projects or tech development.

ENERCON GmbH This position is classified as Core Job Engineer IV and assigned to Pay Grade 7.


Your Responsibilities


  • Further develop the toolchain for thermal simulations and perform thermal simulations of relevant generator, e-nacelle, and other wind turbine components using CFD within the product development process.

  • Validate simulation processes using measurement data.

  • Develop concepts and recommendations for optimized airflow management and thermal management.

  • Develop parametric models of wind turbine components, such as LVD cabinets, CBS cabinets, generators, and related systems.

  • Build surrogate models for specific wind turbine components.

  • Lead cross-functional, product-related technology development projects.


Your Qualifications


  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Process Engineering, Physics, or a comparable field (Dipl.-Ing. or M.Sc.), with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience, or a PhD.

  • Experience in CFD simulations of internal flow and heat transfer using OpenFOAM, as well as in the development of cooling concepts for e-nacelles, generators, electrical cabinets, and other components.

  • Programming skills in Python and experience with version control systems (Git, SVN).

  • Proven track record in technical project leadership or work package leadership within wind turbine component projects or in technology, methodology, or tool development.

  • Ability to solve technical challenges quickly and efficiently.

  • Willingness to drive technology development for alternative drivetrain systems.

  • A strong team player who naturally leads, mentors, and shares knowledge with team members and stakeholders, supported by excellent communication skills.
