Döhler, a leading global producer of natural ingredients, is seeking a passionate Product Developer for Specialty Ingredients and Dry Systems. You will design formulations, develop liquid matrices and drying products, and ensure product functionality and sensory performance for global manufacturers.

In this hands‑on role, you will bridge formulation science with industrial execution, using spray, freeze, and vacuum belt drying to deliver high‑quality ingredients.

Qualifikationen

• Completed studies in Food Technology, Food Chemistry, Dairy Technology, Food Science, or a comparable scientific field.
• 2–5 years of hands‑on product development experience in the food industry, ideally within dairy, ice cream, or emulsified systems.
• Fluent in German and English for cross‑functional communication.

Aufgaben

• Innovative Product Development: own new recipes from liquid to final dry systems for innovation and customer projects.
• Formulation & Matrix Stabilization: design liquid or frozen pre‑mixes and maximize matrix stability during processing.
• Product/Process Development: apply core liquid and drying technologies (spray, freeze, vacuum belt) to development and optimization.
• Scale‑Up Support: assist transfer from lab/pilot to production and work with Supply Chain on processing challenges.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration: align with Application teams, Business Units, Sales, and Quality.
• Drive Continuous Improvement & Data Governance: contribute to R&D digitalization and manage recipes and data in SAP.

We are seeking a passionate, energetic, and hands‑on Product Developer to shape the next generation of our Specialty Ingredients and innovative Dry Systems. In this role, you will spearhead formulation design, delivering everything from advanced liquid matrices to high‑performance powders, granulates, and customized shapes.
Bridging product design, functional ingredient interactions, and industrial execution, you will leverage core technologies like spray, freeze, and vacuum belt drying to engineer maximum functionality, stability, and sensory performance for global manufacturers.

Your Role

• Innovative Product Development: Take ownership of developing new recipes and adapting formulations from liquid preparation to final dry systems, for both innovation and dedicated customer projects. You will balance physical attributes with outstanding sensory performance to ensure processability and functionality, while managing your projects to translate briefs into successful B2B technical solutions.
• Formulation & Matrix Stabilization: Utilize functional ingredients (hydrocolloids, emulsifiers, fats, proteins) to design liquid or frozen pre‑mixes, mastering rheological properties to maximize matrix stability during processing, e.g. granulation, and shaping.
• Product/Process Development: Apply your understanding and hands‑on experience in core liquid and drying technologies (spray drying, freeze drying, and vacuum belt drying) on process development and optimization.
• Scale‑Up Support:. Support technical transfer from lab/pilot plant to global production, collaborating with Supply Chain to resolve processing challenges.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Application teams to ensure that the product delivers a perfect technical fit for the final end‑use, while also aligning with stakeholders like Business Units, Market Segments, Sales, Production and Quality.
• Drive Continuous Improvement & Data Governance: Actively contribute to R&D digitalization initiatives, optimize system‑based workflows, and ensure smooth operational data governance by maintaining recipes, product data, and raw material attributes within SAP system.

Your Profile

• Successfully completed studies in Food Technology, Food Chemistry, Dairy Technology, Food Science, or a comparable scientific field.
• 2–5 years of hands‑on product development experience in the food industry, ideally within dairy, ice cream, or emulsified systems, combined with a solid understanding of downstream drying technologies (e.g., spray, freeze, or vacuum drying).
• A passionate, highly motivated team player with a genuine excitement for innovative food products, a creative mindset, and a strong drive to build great products together with the team.
• A hands‑on, proactive, and solution‑oriented way of working, combining sharp analytical skills with the ability to navigate complex matrices and cross‑functional interfaces with confidence.
• Fluent in both German and English to ensure seamless communication with local production plants and cross‑functional teams.
