I'm recruiting on behalf of a leading aerospace engineering client for experienced Design Approvers to support Airbus Electrical Systems Installation (ESI) projects for the A320 Single Aisle (SA) programme. This is a remote-based role with occasional travel to Hamburg, offering you the opportunity to contribute directly to the quality and compliance of critical aircraft systems.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Design Approver with a background in Airbus Electrical Systems Installation (ESI) to work remotely for a world-leading aerospace organisation. With the salary open and negotiable depending on your experience, this role offers strong earning potential along with the chance to play a key part in cutting-edge aircraft programmes.

Location
  • Remote, with occasional travel to Hamburg, Germany
About The Role

This is a pivotal design signatory role focused on ATA92 and related sub-ATAs within the A320/SA programme. You'll play a hands‑on part in ensuring regulatory compliance, engineering integrity, and continuous process improvement across the ESI perimeter.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performing A1020 approver‑level signatures for design deliverables (DWG/DD) within ATA92 and related systems
  • Conducting design quality checks, including 3D design reviews, drawing validations, and configuration control
  • Acting as a key interface for resolving technical queries raised by engineering and quality teams
  • Ensuring alignment between the Configured DMU and the overall design intent
  • Supporting the creation and validation of RDRs and DQNs, and ensuring compliance with Airbus check processes (QC0, QC1, QC2)
  • Providing guidance on bracket design proposals, installation routes, and weight‑saving initiatives
  • Contributing to harness installation drawings, harness migration to CATIA V5, and support tool usage (CIRCE‑I, CAPITAL, COBOT, CORELEC, etc.)
  • Liaising cross‑functionally with teams in Airframe, Cabin, Systems, Industrialisation, and Standardisation
  • Supporting audits and documentation to ensure compliance with DOA, EASA Part 21J, and safety reporting standards
  • Playing an active role in continuous improvement initiatives – including process automation, digitalisation, and standardisation efforts
  • Mentoring and guiding junior engineers, contributing to skill development and knowledge management
  • Collaborating with offshore/onsite teams in a global delivery model
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor's in Aeronautical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
  • 8–12 years’ experience in Airbus Electrical System Installation
  • DOA signatory experience in ATA928/929 or ATA923–925
  • Hands‑on knowledge of Airbus design tools (Catia V5, VPM, CAPITAL, COBOT, CIRCE, SAP, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of configuration management, functional electrics, and installation concepts
  • Comfortable working across different Airbus programmes, with A320/SA essential
  • Familiarity with EASA Part 21J, airworthiness, and safety categorisation
  • Strong interpersonal and decision‑making skills, especially under pressure
Desirable
  • Experience with A330, A350, or A380 programmes
  • Involvement in digital transformation or tooling optimisation
  • Familiarity with offshore/onsite collaboration models
Salary & Benefits
  • Open and negotiable, based on experience
  • Excellent benefits package
  • Remote working with occasional visits to Hamburg office

  • Opportunity to work on flagship Airbus projects
  • Supportive culture with a focus on career development
