Blue Yonder in Germany is seeking a Data Science Consultant who translates data into actionable insights and advises on software configuration to maximize value. You will work with regional and global teams to extend models, build dashboards, and communicate results to customers while adhering to ITIL practices and SLAs.

You will travel up to 10% and contribute to proofs-of-concept, data storytelling, and value realization for pricing and cognitive solutions.

Qualifikationen

• German language fluent; English business fluent.
• Graduate degree in Operations Research, Statistics, or related quantitative field.
• Advanced knowledge of machine learning preferred.
• Ability to elicit customers’ knowledge and translate data into insights.
• Ability to communicate analytic insights to customers without deep statistics knowledge.
• Familiarity with retail, pricing, and supply chain processes is preferred.
• Experience creating dashboards, visualizations, and reports.
• Experience with script languages, preferably Python.

Overview

The Data Science Consultant provides services that maximize the value of the customer’s business through data-driven insights and enhanced decision support. This role will be responsible for advising the customer and recommending software configuration alternatives and adapting the software that is configured to optimize the solution so that the customer may realize the maximum value from the software.

Responsibilities

• Perform data analysis to discover patterns, trends and anomalies in customer data, translate the results into actionable insights, and present results and recommendations to support customers in improving their data quality.
• Work as part of a regional and global support team, supporting customer running Pricing solutions and in the future our Cognitive solutions
• Extract and present data stories from customer data sets to demonstrate value of solution and guide the customer in their priorities
• Guide the customer through identification of success metrics
• Work with other members of the Blue Yonder team to understand domain issues and customer-specific requirements and translate them into model enhancement and tuning activities
• Adhere to ITIL standards for support case management when working with our customers, adhere and achieved specified SLAs and Case Quality
• Extend, configure and train models to support overall project objectives, and run simulations and what-if analyses to evaluate alternative scenarios
• Provide analytical services as part of a team conducting proofs-of-concept and identifying opportunities to create customer value
• Keep up with industry trends in data science practice and continuously improve the support team’s tools and methodologies
• Travel to customer and team work locations (according requirement, max around 10%)

Qualifications

• German language - fluent
• English language - business fluent
• Graduate degree in Operations Research, Statistics, or a related quantitative field, is required, and advanced knowledge of machine learning is preferred
• Ability to elicit customers’ knowledge, both explicit and tacit, about business objectives, strategic concerns, and policies related to the scope and success of the project
• Able to translate complex data into business insights and opportunities to create value
• Ability to communicate analytic insights and recommendations to customers without a deep knowledge of statistics by relating data stories to business situations and processes
• Familiarity with business processes for retail, pricing, and supply chain management is preferred
• Demonstrated experience of script programming languages, preferably Python, for data analytics and machine learning applications
• Ability to create dashboards, visualizations, and reports to communicate statistical findings
• Capable of working with and selecting relevant subsets of large data sets
• PhD is a plus
