Amazon TA is seeking a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to join the expanding Infrastructure Operations team. This hands-on role focuses on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and operation, ensuring the reliability of critical data center infrastructure.

You will work with a diverse team of engineers and operations staff to maintain safety standards, monitor equipment, and drive continuous improvement in facility operations.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelors degree(s) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in data center engineering or facilities operations is preferred.
• Knowledge of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems is desirable.

We are looking for a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team. Data Center Engineering Operations Technician is a hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation responder. Your work will help to maintain one of the world's largest information system infrastructures.

Key job responsibilities

• SAFETY: Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and diligently encourage a world-class safety culture. As a facility owner team, ensure remediation of safety risks/issues in conjunction with other teams. Own the safety initiatives and projects to foster strong safety culture.
• ENGINEERING & FACILITY OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE: Operational experience and familiarity with electrical and mechanical equipment, including Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS's), Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS's), Diesel Generators, Chillers, Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC), Exhaust Fans, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's), and Transformers.
  • Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA's)
  • Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log-taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)
  • Supervise contractor or Engineering Operations Technicians to ensure proper operation and maintenance of all facility equipment.
  • Driving continuous improvement efforts on infrastructure through standardization of procedures and policies, while delivering performance against agreed metrics.
  • Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians and assist in recruiting efforts.
  • Lead the root cause analysis for operational issues, and conduct meetings with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to finalize mitigation strategies.

Physical requirements

• Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits in accordance with regulations).
• Ability to work shifts (morning, late and night)
• On-call rotation reaction to off-duty emergency calls
• Work at heights and from ladders; in a noisy environment with ear protection
• Perform physical tasks during the shift

• Knowledge of network design and layout as well as low voltage (copper/ fiber) cabling
• Experience in data center engineering
• Can perform physical tasks all day without becoming overly tired
