Zusammenfassung

DigitalOcean in Germany is hiring a Data Center Engineer II to maintain, upgrade and scale our physical infrastructure. You will be onsite at the data center and work with a fast‑growing, collaborative team to ensure high availability and reliability of servers, networking gear and power systems across locations.

Candidates should have strong Linux, networking and hardware troubleshooting skills, plus the ability to perform installations, upgrades and remote work coordination.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in deploying, maintaining, and working in a data center environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in networking, hardware, and Linux operating systems, with experience diagnosing and repairing hardware, executing upgrades, and performing hardware installations.
• Proficient in Linux OS, including working with terminal sessions and command-line interfaces.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative mindset and a positive, can-do attitude.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally (10%–15% travel).
• Valid driver’s license and comfort with driving.
• Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs.

At DigitalOcean, Data Center Engineers play a massive role in the success of our business. Our amazing Data Center team is responsible for maintaining and growing the physical infrastructure of the DigitalOcean cloud, past, present and future. They own everything related to the physical servers and networking gear that enables our company, and our customers to scale.
Day to day duties may include everything from replacing a faulty drive in one of our servers, to flying overseas to set up a brand new Data Center from scratch. In exchange for your expertise and enthusiastic interest in DigitalOcean, we can offer you a role on a fast growing, and collaborative team where you'll be given regular opportunities to hone your skills and learn new ones. This position requires you to be onsite at our data center.

What You’ll Do:

• Capability to remain on your feet throughout the workday.
