MSA, The Safety Company in Berlin seeks a motivated data engineer to join our agile team and build scalable data pipelines for analytics, reporting and AI use cases. You will work with AWS, SQL, Snowflake and dbt to shape our data models and pipelines.

You’ll contribute to quarterly OKRs, collaborate cross-functionally, and improve data quality, performance and observability across our cloud-based platform in a dynamic, start-up like environment backed by a market leader.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for a motivated, knowledgeable individual to join us in our agile working environment in Berlin to eliminate work place injuries focusing on industrial and fire services. You can help us continue to shape the future of safety technology – your code could save lives!

The candidate will work with our tech stack on existing and new projects in a data engineering capacity using a combination of Amazon Web Services, SQL and Snowflake.

Our Techstack:

Our techstack consists of various parts using Angular, NodeJS, dbt on Snowflake and Postgres running on AWS utilizing managed services like Lambdas, ECR and Kinesis streams. We have a strong focus on automatisating. We cherry pick the best parts of what we like and are always looking to improve and take advantage of the latest technology and methodologies. If you see a better way let’s use it!

Our working methodologies are agile and we organize ourselves using the Product Operating Model.

Responsibilities

• Contribute directly to quarterly OKRs with clear milestones and measurable results


• Develop, optimize and maintain existing data models, pipelines, and transformations to support analytics, reporting, and AI use cases


• Identify and create new data models based on complex telemetry data


• Create data validation and quality assurance mechanisms

Qualifications

What you bring:

• Experience in SaaS productsand customer facing analytics solutions


• Skills that will benefit and are compatible to our tech-stack


• Experience in agile projects


• Good understanding of relational data modeling and SQL


• Understanding and appreciation of application performance, uptime, and fast root-cause analysis


• A “scale engineering” mindset: An ability to write the integration and build pipes to deploy and monitor your code.


• Fluency in English (our office language is English)


• Experience and knowledge of NodeJS & TypeScript is a benefit
