METRO Markets GmbH is hiring a Data Analyst – Business Analyst to join our BI & Data Analytics team in Düsseldorf or Palma de Mallorca. You will translate data into actionable, profit-enhancing strategies and work closely with Commercial, Pricing, Tech & Product teams to shape BI solutions.

The role requires 4+ years in business analytics, strong data analytics background, expert Power BI, and SQL/Python/R skills to drive insights across e-commerce KPIs.

Qualifikationen

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in Business Analytics or Data Analytics
• Strong educational or practical background in data-related fields (Data Science, Statistics, Economics)
• Advanced exploratory data analysis skills with a focus on business impact and insights
• Expert Power BI skills (DAX, data modeling, interactive dashboards/reports)
• Solid knowledge of SQL, Python or R and common BI software
• Experience with structured and unstructured data on cloud platforms
• Understanding KPIs for Pricing, Commercial and E-commerce domains
• Attention to detail and proactive communication of insights to stakeholders
• EU work visa is a must

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Analyst – Business Analyst with expertise in commercial side of the business to join our Business Intelligence & Data Analytics team. To ensure success as a Data Analyst - Business Analyst, you should possess passion for data, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and experience in a similar role. Your Responsibilities

Work closely with cross-functional teams (Commercial, Pricing, Tech&Product, Country Leads, Marketing etc.) to gather business requirements and translate them into BI solutions.

• Develop, own and further enhance reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to communicate key insights and performance metrics.
• Analyse large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization. Utilize statistical modelling methods to assess the potential impact of pricing strategies on profitability, marketing spent, replenishment or other commercial projects.
• Analyse data from diverse sources to gain insights into commercial strategies and market trends.
• Optimization and ongoing development of our BI landscape, systems and tools.
• Ensuring scalable data architecture, data integration and data processing.

You've got

• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, ideally in commercial strategies.
• Strong educational or practical background in Data Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Advanced level of proficiency in exploratory data analysis, and drive “so what” and business impact from data-driven insights
• Expert-level proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, data modeling, and creating interactive dashboards and reports.
• Strong knowledge of coding languages such as SQL, Python, or R, along with relevant frameworks.
• Good knowledge in common business intelligence software
• Experience working with structured and unstructured data, preferably on cloud-based data platforms.
• In-depth understanding of Pricing, Commercial, and E-commerce relevant KPIs and metrics, ideally within the e-commerce and retail/wholesale industry.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proactive, open-minded, and motivated mindset.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to pitch ideas and effectively communicate insights to diverse audiences.
• Must have EU work visa
