Job summary

ALTEN Consulting Services GmbH in Munich seeks a cybersecurity auditor/consultant to identify and assess cyber risks, analyze gaps, and support ongoing improvement across IT systems, products, and processes. You will audit governance, controls, and security practices while communicating results to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a comparable field.
• Practical experience in cybersecurity, IT audit, risk management or related consulting environments.
• Experience in industrial environments, professional services, consulting organizations, or audit-related functions is ideal.
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity risks, controls, governance frameworks, and security assessment methodologies.
• Experience in identity and access management, application security, cloud security, network security, vulnerability management, incident handling, system hardening, asset management, industrial security, or secure software development.
• Strong interest in current cybersecurity trends and evolving technologies, with good communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify, assess, measure, and monitor cybersecurity risks with hands-on assessments of processes and controls.
• Analyze security gaps, investigate root causes, and support sustainable improvement measures.
• Prepare and execute cybersecurity audits across IT systems, products, services, and manufacturing environments.
• Evaluate controls and communicate observations and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Translate findings into actionable management information for risk-based decisions.
• Collaborate with security specialists to address challenges and improve solutions.
• Contribute to development and effectiveness of audit methodologies.
• Monitor emerging cybersecurity trends and their impact on complex digital environments.

• analyze security gaps, investigate their root causes, and support the development of sustainable improvement measures

• hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a comparable field
• bring practical experience in cybersecurity, IT audit, cybersecurity audit, risk management, or related consulting environments
• ideally have experience within industrial environments, professional services, consulting organizations, or audit-related functions
• possess a solid understanding of cybersecurity risks, controls, governance frameworks, and security assessment methodologies
• have experience in one or more of the following areas: identity and access management, application security, cloud security, network security, vulnerability management, incident handling, system hardening, asset management, industrial security, or secure software development
• demonstrate a strong interest in current cybersecurity trends, emerging threats, and evolving technologies
• possess strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
• bring solid project coordination or project management capabilities
• are willing to travel internationally and work within a remote and collaborative environment
• communicate fluently in English; German or additional languages are considered an advantage
