KLA in Dresden is seeking an Applications Engineer to support European customers, develop new best-known methods, lead project activity at customer sites and drive pre-sales and post-sales activities for our Films and Optical CD platforms.

The role requires fluent English and German, travel >50%, a Master degree in Materials Science, Physics or Electronics/EE, and semiconductor IC fab experience.

APPLICATIONS ENGINEER OPENING WITHIN EUROPE

We are looking for an APPLICATIONS ENGINEER, based in Dresden, to support our European customers, develop new BKM's in order to increase product adoption, lead project activity at customer sites and drive pre-sales and post-sales activities for our Films and Optical CD platforms.

Major Responsibilities include:

• Drive product adoption at customer site
• Support KLA-Tencor division and local Business Unit to achieve their business goals
• Responsible for providing technical applications support for the development and implementation of company products in customer fabrication facilities.
• Makes presentations on all aspects of products and provides customer trainings.
• Assists sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and preparing detailed product specifications.
• Helps projects' execution and product adoption at customer site.
• Collaborate closely with divisional team and local Business Unit to achieve KLA business goals.

Technical Skills:

• Experiences using ellipsometry/reflectometry
• Understanding of how to use statistics to derive meaningful results
• Use of professional concepts and company objectives in creative and effective ways
• Project Management Experience is a plus
• Have creative thinking approach to deal with new customer challenges

• Willingness to travel > 50% of time. Travel for an extended period (2-3 months) to Taiwan is expected.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master Degree in Materials Science, Physics or Electronics/Electrical engineering or an equivalent education in a related field, PhD is a plus.
• Languages: fluent English, German. Mandarin knowledge is a plus.
• 3 years of semiconductor IC fab experience would be beneficial. Statistic software (eg. JMP) knowledge is a plus.
• EU driving license
