Your Mission

We are seeking a skilled and innovative crystallization expert to join our dynamic team focused on developing next generation of lithium-sulfur battery technology. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of solvent-based crystallization processes. This role focuses on developing high-quality 3-dimensional monolithic sulfur-based wafers for use in our lithium-sulfur batteries. As an integral part of the team, you will play a critical role in the research, design, development and implementation of the ion’s polycrystalline sulfur wafer technology and contribute towards the improvement, scalability and commercialization of the same.

Your Tasks

• Design and execute experiments to grow 3-dimensional polycrystalline sulfur wafers using solution-based crystallization.
• Optimize crystallization process to maintain a high degree of control over porosity, uniformity and thickness of the grown sulfur wafer.
• Investigate growth mechanisms and establish robust protocols for consistent and scalable wafer production.
• Design and implement nanomaterial seeding strategies to modulate and control crystal growth sulfur.
• Evaluate the impact of different seed introductions on the wafer quality, structural integrity, and crystallographic properties.
• Contribute towards the design and implementation of wafer growing reactor.
• Collaborate with material scientists to select and tailor nanomaterials for optimal seed‑induced growth modulation.
• Perform comprehensive material characterization using techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and spectroscopy methods.
• Analyze growth kinetics and crystal morphology, drawing correlations between process parameters and seeding material properties.
• Maintain record of experimental data and prepare detailed technical reports and publications.
• Work cross-functionally with scientists, engineers, and external partners to advance sulfur wafer growth technologies.
