Theion GmbH in Berlin is seeking a Chemical Lab Assistant (F/M/D) for a part-time 20h/week role to support next-gen lithium-sulfur battery development. You will perform daily lab operations, assist in pouch cell assembly, inventory management, and equipment care in a safety-conscious environment.

The ideal candidate has a chemical background, at least 2 years of lab experience, and proficiency in German and English.

Qualifikationen

• German and English proficiency; English is the company language for internal communication.
• Minimum 2 years of laboratory experience.
• Availability to start as soon as possible.

Aufgaben

• Maintain and clean laboratory areas and glassware
• Assist pouch cell assembly according to established procedures
• Prepare pouch, coin, and Swagelok cell parts for testing and experimentation
• Manage chemical inventory and laboratory consumables
• Check and replace gas cylinders and ensure proper storage and availability
• Calibrate laboratory equipment according to established procedures and schedules
• Support equipment maintenance including TGA, SEM, and DSC
• Perform routine laboratory safety checks including fume hood suction, filter inspection/replacement, eyewash and emergency shower checks, and chemical waste management

Your mission

We are seeking a reliable, hands-on Lab Assistant to support our team developing next-generation lithium-sulfur battery technology. The ideal candidate will have a chemical background and practical lab experience, with a strong focus on safety, organization, and efficiency. You will support daily lab operations, including cell preparation, inventory management, equipment maintenance, and safety checks.

• Maintain and clean laboratory areas and glassware
• Assist pouch cell assembly according to established procedures
• Prepare pouch, coin, and Swagelok cell parts for testing and experimentation
• Manage chemical inventory and laboratory consumables

Your profile

Absolute-Must-Haves

• Proficient in German and English - our company language is English, incl. all internal communication and meetings. You will be contacting external technicians in German.
