Ebury is seeking a Credit Risk Analyst in Düsseldorf for a hybrid role with four days in the office and one day remote. You will analyse credit risks for SMEs, supporting trade finance and currency products, and present findings to the credit committee. Collaboration with front office and operations ensures seamless client experiences.

Credit Risk Analyst

Ebury Dusseldorf Office - Hybrid: 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home per week

What you'll do:

• Support, and report to, the Regional Head of Credit Risk.
• Undertake ad hoc requests from the Head of Credit Risk and SVP of Credit Risk.
• Perform detailed credit analysis of prospects and clients for the purpose of granting trade finance and currency trading products, with a focus on financials, operations, and trading cycles.
• Present and defend your analysis personally at credit committee meetings to senior management.
• Engage closely with other teams, such as front office and operations, to ensure a smooth client experience and that decisions made within the Credit Risk team are relayed clearly.
• Manage an existing portfolio of clients, monitoring their credit standing and risk v reward for Ebury.
• Proactively manage your own pipeline of work.
• Liaise with managers across our other geographies to add insight or assist where necessary.
• Share your thoughts to improve our processes.

The Person:

• University degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or similar
• Fluency in German and English
• Ability to read German management accounts (BWA, SuSa)
• Experience in understanding how businesses work and perform. Full understanding of balance sheet, P&L and cash flow
• A background in SME credit underwriting, experience in financial analysis, or a demonstrable understanding of how to assess an entity's creditworthiness.
• Analytical mind and strong problem‑solving skills
• Demonstrable strong analytical ability
• Clear, concise communication style, with the ability to explain complex concepts coherently
• Willingness to work in a highly demanding and result‑oriented team environment
• Working knowledge of Excel essential, VBA/Macros desirable
