Boeing Technology Innovation – Europe (BTI‑E) is seeking a Contracts Management Specialist to support the capture and execution of BTI’s research portfolio within Boeing’s global research organization in the UK, Germany and Spain. This role is critical in ensuring external captures are done complying with EU or national funding organizations schemes and internal policies and procedures, maintaining rigorous program management controls, and fostering effective execution and communication across teams. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting the technical managers and business development team as well as coordinating with other functions to meet the capture goals with the best execution possible, without compromising compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • 55% Contracts: Proposal development and negotiation together with other functions. Provides contracting expertise to develop and negotiate creative business solutions with clients (contracts, lease and confidentiality agreements) and partners (collaboration, cooperation, consortium, license agreements). Administers contracts and agreements to ensure efficient, effective and compliant performance during its lifecycle including interpretation of contract requirements, risk management (coordination with Risk Management and Legal), conflict resolution, delivery and payment for products and services. Preparation of proposals, agreements and completed cost resource estimates and pricing. Drafts/negotiates all the contracts. Data management: ensure supporting documentation is available, contract related compliance and information on contracts properly stored. Educate executing teams in contracts’ obligations. Organize contract management compliance.

  • 20% Assistance in running the business: Coordination for justification of costs and execution of project for obtaining grants and subsidies; organization for administrative consortia and coordination with partners for compliance with grant regulations and consortium agreements’ obligations. Supporting and leading external contract related tasks. Organize contract compliance for audits required by contracts.

  • 10% Intellectual Property: Liaises with Intellectual Property Business focals for contract drafting and negotiation, to obtain proposal assessments and any other intellectual property related matter for the engineering teams.

  • 5% Supply Management: Coordinate with procurement process subcontracts and agreement with suppliers that are part of proposals, making sure flown down of Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) and execution.

  • 5% Legal: Assesses on contractual law, IP law and export laws. Resolves initial disputes with clients and suppliers through negotiation (later steps are coordinated with Legal PW, Seattle and external counsel). Liaises with external counsel for legal assessments on all BTI related issues.

  • 5% Compliance: Review of Boeing Policies and Procedures. Risk assessments twice yearly.

Basic Qualifications (Required Experience)
  • 5 to 10 years' related industry experience.
  • Fluent English and German proficiency.
  • Candidates should possess level proficiency and knowledge concerning the Research & Development European Framework programs, and European national governments (UK and German in particular) and should have experience in international contracting.
  • Complete fluency in general, business and contractual terminologies in both English and German is essential.
  • Candidate should also be proficient in a broad range of functional assignments and proven skills in communication, administration, analysis, leadership, short-term and long-term planning, problem solving, proposal preparation, negotiations, and administration of contracts or other contract specialties.
  • Experience in legal and contractual aspects of intellectual property management and protection is highly desirable.
  • M365 Windows related tools.
  • Must have existing rights to work in Germany.

This position is hybrid which allows some telecommuting. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform minimum 3 days as week work onsite. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, international commerce, law or a related field.
  • German mother tongue.
  • Experience in a multinational company is a plus.
  • Effective communicator with a proactive approach to solving problems.

  • This requisition is for a locally hired position in Germany. The employer is Boeing Germany. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Germany. Benefits and pay are determined by Germany and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
