Zusammenfassung

Alpha ESS in Germany seeks a Contract Manager to oversee contract management across C&I and Utilities for BESS projects, coordinating with customers, EPC partners and suppliers.

You will draft and negotiate EPC, O&M, NDAs, SLAs and other contracts, manage change orders and claims, monitor performance, and contribute to commercial risk management in an international environment.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Contract Management, Commercial Management, Procurement, or similar field.
• Experience with EPC, energy, infrastructure, construction, renewable energy, or BESS projects.
• Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
• Ability to understand and assess complex commercial and contractual terms.
• Experience managing claims, variations, change orders, penalties, warranties, and contractual risks.
• Ability to independently manage multiple contracts and projects simultaneously.
• Strong written and spoken English skills; German or Chinese a plus.

Aufgaben

• Manage BESS project contracts from negotiation and signing through to project completion.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage EPC, Supply, O&M, Service, Framework Agreements, NDAs, SLAs, and other contracts.
• Represent Alpha ESS in commercial and contractual negotiations with customers, EPC contractors, suppliers, and partners.
• Identify and manage commercial, legal, financial, and performance-related risks.
• Ensure proper control of contractual obligations, deadlines, payments, guarantees, LDs, warranties, and other terms.
• Coordinate change orders, variations, claims, and contract amendments.
• Monitor contract performance and ensure project teams comply with obligations.
• Participate in resolving disputes, claims, and escalated contractual matters.
• Collaborate with Sales, Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and Legal teams.
• Develop and improve contract management processes, standard terms, and risk management practices.
• Contribute to development of commercial structures and contract strategies for BESS projects.

Alpha ESS is a rapidly growing energy storage solutions (BESS) company in the region, looking for a Contract Manager to join our team and take responsibility for contract management across the C&I (Commercial & Industrial) and Utilities segments.

In this role, you will be a key link between Alpha ESS, end customers, EPC partners, suppliers, and other project stakeholders, ensuring smooth contract execution, effective management of commercial and legal risks, and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage BESS project contracts from negotiation and signing through to project completion.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage EPC, Supply, O&M, Service, Framework Agreements, NDAs, SLAs, and other types of contracts.
• Represent Alpha ESS in commercial and contractual negotiations with customers, EPC contractors, suppliers, and partners.
• Identify and manage commercial, legal, financial, and performance-related risks.
• Ensure proper control of contractual obligations, deadlines, payments, guarantees, LDs (Liquidated Damages), warranties, and other contractual terms.
• Coordinate change orders, variations, claims, and contract amendments.
• Monitor contract performance and ensure that project teams comply with contractual obligations.
• Participate in resolving disputes, claims, and escalated contractual matters.
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and Legal teams.
• Develop and improve contract management processes, standard contractual terms, and risk management practices.
• Contribute to the development of commercial structures and contract strategies for BESS projects in the C&I and Utilities markets.

Additional Qualifications

• Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
• Experience with C&I and utility-scale energy projects.
• Legal education or additional knowledge of contract and/or commercial law.
• Experience working with international customers and EPC contractors.
• Knowledge of German or Chinese languages.
• Knowledge of the energy market, renewable energy, or electricity grid infrastructure.
• Experience in team management and task delegation.
• Ability to work both in the office and remotely, with willingness and availability to travel.
