The Role:

You will be responsible for supervising the erection and installation of heavy structural steelwork, ensuring all works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification within a complex industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise erection of heavy steel structures (primary & secondary steel)


• Oversee lifting operations and rigging activities


• Coordinate daily activities with subcontractors and construction teams


• Ensure compliance with HSE standards, RAMS, and site procedures


• Monitor installation quality, alignment, and tolerances


• Report progress, risks, and delays to construction management


• Conduct toolbox talks and ensure safe working practices on site


• Support coordination across disciplines on a busy EPC project

Requirements:

• Proven experience supervising heavy steel structure erection


• Background within large-scale industrial construction projects (e.g. steel plants, power, oil & gas, process plants)


• Strong knowledge of lifting operations and rigging


• Ability to read and interpret structural and erection drawings


• Solid understanding of HSE standards and site-based safety culture


• Experience managing subcontractors on site


• Experience on steelworks / steel plant projects (SF)


• SFI experience would be considered a strong advantage


• Previous exposure to EPC projects


• Experience with furnace / DRI / heavy industrial installations
