Salary: €160,000 – €180,000 per annum

The Opportunity

We are recruiting for an experienced Commissioning Manager to join one of Europe's largest and most established construction companies, generating approximately €10 billion in annual revenue and headquartered in Hessen, Germany.

This is an opportunity to join a financially strong, internationally recognised contractor delivering major data centre projects across Europe.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing and coordinating commissioning activities on large-scale data centre developments in Frankfurt, ensuring that complex mechanical, electrical and critical infrastructure systems are tested, integrated and handed over successfully.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the commissioning process from planning and pre-commissioning through to integrated systems testing (IST) and final handover.
• Coordinate mechanical, electrical, controls and specialist commissioning teams.
• Develop and oversee commissioning programmes, schedules and execution strategies.
• Manage commissioning subcontractors, vendors and specialist consultants.
• Ensure commissioning activities meet project specifications, quality standards and client requirements.
• Oversee functional performance testing, system integration and commissioning documentation.
• Identify and resolve technical issues affecting commissioning progress.
• Work closely with project directors, construction managers, engineering teams and client representatives.
• Ensure safe commissioning practices and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Support successful project completion, client acceptance and operational readiness.

Requirements

• Proven experience in commissioning management on large-scale data centre or mission-critical construction projects.
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical, electrical and critical infrastructure systems.
• Experience managing commissioning teams and specialist subcontractors.
• Knowledge of commissioning procedures, integrated systems testing and project handover.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working for a main contractor, MEP contractor or specialist commissioning organisation.
• Ability to manage complex commissioning programmes and deliver against demanding project milestones.
• English language proficiency required; German language skills advantageous.
