Job summary

Blue Fox is seeking an experienced Mechanical Lead to join a major data centre project in Frankfurt. The role requires ownership of mechanical activities, leadership of subcontractors, and driving testing, commissioning and handover.

You will oversee HVAC, chilled water, pumps and AHUs, coordinate with GC, client and vendors, and ensure quality, safety and compliance on site. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical engineering background and proven GC-side experience on large-scale data

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical engineering / construction background.
• Experience on large-scale data centre or mission-critical projects.
• Experience leading subcontractors and site teams.
• GC-side experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical activities across the project from installation through to commissioning.
• Coordinate and manage mechanical subcontractors and site teams.
• Oversee HVAC, chilled water, pumps, AHUs and associated systems.
• Coordinate mechanical testing and commissioning activities.
• Support commissioning, testing, snagging and final system handover.
• Ensure works are delivered in line with drawings and programme.
• Coordinate with GC, client, vendors, subcontractors and wider project team.
• Ensure quality, safety and compliance requirements are maintained.
• Monitor progress and identify potential delays or issues.
• Lead the resolution of technical and site-based problems.
• Work closely with the commissioning team to ensure systems are ready for testing.

This is a 12-month GC-side position suited to someone who can take ownership of mechanical activities, lead teams and subcontractors, and help drive the project through testing, commissioning and handover.

• Lead mechanical activities across the project from installation through to commissioning
• Coordinate and manage mechanical subcontractors and site teams
• Oversee mechanical systems including HVAC, chilled water, pumps, AHUs and associated systems
• Ensure works are delivered in line with project specifications, drawings and programme
• Coordinate mechanical testing and commissioning activities
• Work closely with the commissioning team to ensure systems are ready for testing
• Monitor progress and identify potential delays or issues
• Lead the resolution of technical and site-based problems
• Coordinate with the GC, client, vendors, subcontractors and wider project team
• Ensure quality, safety and compliance requirements are maintained
• Support commissioning, testing, snagging and final system handover

The ideal candidate

• Strong mechanical engineering / construction background
• Previous experience as a Mechanical Lead / Mechanical Supervisor / Mechanical Package Lead
• Experience working on large-scale data centre / mission critical projects
• Strong understanding of mechanical MEP systems
• Proven ability to lead subcontractors and site teams
• Comfortable working alongside commissioning teams
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
• Previous GC-side experience advantageous
