Position Summary
The Cloud Engineer is responsible for deploying, managing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure and services to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure operations. This role focuses on the hands‑on implementation of cloud solutions, automation, monitoring, and support, collaborating with Cloud Architects, DevOps, and IT teams to meet business and technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Deployment & Management
- Deploy and configure cloud resources in public, private, or hybrid cloud environments (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
- Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, ARM Templates, or CloudFormation.
- Manage compute, storage, networking, and security services in cloud environments.
- Perform cloud migrations, including lift‑and‑shift and modernization initiatives.
Automation & DevOps Integration
- Develop automation scripts for provisioning, scaling, and monitoring cloud resources (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
- Integrate cloud resources with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.
- Implement automation to improve operational efficiency, consistency, and repeatability.
Monitoring, Performance & Optimization
- Monitor cloud infrastructure for availability, performance, and security issues.
- Troubleshoot cloud‑related incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Optimize cloud costs, resource utilization, and performance.
Security & Compliance
- Implement identity and access management, encryption, and other security best practices.
- Ensure cloud deployments comply with internal policies and regulatory standards (HIPAA, SOC 2, GDPR, PCI‑DSS).
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to address vulnerabilities and enforce governance.
Collaboration & Documentation
- Work closely with Cloud Architects, DevOps, Networking, and Security teams to implement solutions.
- Document cloud configurations, deployment procedures, and operational guidelines.
- Provide technical guidance and support to IT staff and end‑users as needed.
Qualifications
Required
- 2-5+ years of hands‑on experience in cloud infrastructure and services.
- Experience with one or more public cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Proficiency with infrastructure as code (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation) and automation scripting.
- Knowledge of cloud networking, storage, compute, security, and identity services.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and operational skills.
Preferred
- Experience with hybrid or multi‑cloud environments.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Certifications: AWS Solutions Architect Associate/Professional, Microsoft Azure Administrator, Google Associate/Professional Cloud Engineer.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and monitoring tools.
