Job summary

Mindrift is seeking a freelance CAD engineer to train and evaluate AI agents within a real CAD environment on long engineering tasks. You will design part geometry, build reference solutions, and judge the agent's attempts, working alongside CFD engineers who simulate your geometry.

The role requires 5+ years of hands-on CAD modelling (CATIA, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Creo or similar) and an active CAD licence. Proficiency in Python and GitHub, and English at B2 level or higher, are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Eng or related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on CAD modelling (CATIA, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Creo or similar).
• Active professional CAD licence required.
• Proficiency in Python and GitHub.
• English at least B2 level.

Requirements

• A degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. A Master's or PhD is a plus
• 5+ years of professional, hands-on CAD modelling (CATIA, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Creo or similar). Experience preparing geometry for simulation (ANSYS or similar) is a strong plus
• An active professional CAD licence of your own (required)
• Comfortable with Python and GitHub
• English at B2 level or above

Project time expectations

For this project, tasks are estimated to require around 10-20 hours per week during active phases, based on project requirements. This is an estimate, not a guaranteed workload, and applies only while the project is active.

Compensation

On this project, contributors can earn up to $50 per hour equivalent, depending on their level and pace of contribution.
