Based in Hamburg, my client within the Financial sector are seeking a Senior C++ Software Engineer to play a key part in the design and development of the companies trading algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of our global in-house production system with a strong focus on developing cutting-edge automated trading algorithms.
• Partner with our trading, compliance, and back-office teams to turn new business and digitisation ideas into live solutions, often in just a few weeks.
• Drive the continuous evolution of our software architecture by introducing and integrating the latest technologies and ideas.
• Support technical product owners, lead cross-functional teams, and share best practices across the organisation
• Take on diverse projects to implement and test new software products, ensuring they align with modern practices and a streamlined product pipeline.
• Experience the immediate feedback of your work with new features that quickly make an impact in the dynamic world of trading.

Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
• Several years of hands-on experience developing with C++17 (Boost, CMake), and solid knowledge of software design patterns (UML, requirements engineering).
• Able to present new concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences and coach colleagues on best practices.
• Familiarity with continuous integration (e.g., GitLab) and automated testing
• Experience with Python (e.g., for tool development or open-source projects) and comfortable in a Linux environment
• An interest in emerging technologies (e.g., Cloud, Kubernetes, C++23), with a proactive approach to staying ahead of the curve.
• Fluent in both written and spoken German and English.
