C++ Software Development Intern (Linux & Rust)

We are looking for an enthusiastic intern to join our Linux distribution and software product teams. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in C++ and Rust development while working in an international, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Active collaboration on our Linux distribution and software products
• Work on existing open‑source projects and publish the changes
• Design and develop software in Rust and C++ and create automated tests
• Develop solutions on Linux platforms and implement network‑protocol logic
• Familiarize with open‑source software, community practices, and best‑practice tooling
• Write shell scripts and utilize core Linux utilities
• Participate in code reviews, coaching sessions, and team meetings
• Contribute to challenging and diverse projects within a professional, international team

Required Qualifications

• Background in software development and programming (required)
• Strong knowledge of C++ (including the standard library & STL); experience with Rust is a plus
• Experience with Linux development and network protocols
• Familiarity with open‑source software, community concepts, and version control (Git)
• Proficiency in scripting languages (shell scripts, Python, Perl, PHP as desired)
• German language skills; ability to read German technical documents is beneficial
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (required)
