Business Development Manager, General and Transitional Care (all genders)

Shape the Future of Healthcare Beyond the Hospital Transitional Care is becoming a critical strategic priority for health systems across DACH, as care shifts beyond traditional hospital walls. At Philips, we are redefining how patients transition safely and seamlessly between acute care, community settings and home. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape one of our strategic growth priorities in one of Europe's most influential healthcare markets. As Business Development Manager for DACH, you will lead the commercial development of the Transitional Care market, working alongside healthcare providers, policymakers, strategic partners and internal leadership to create new business opportunities, influence market evolution and establish Philips as the trusted partner in connected care. This is not a traditional sales role. It combines strategic consulting, healthcare transformation, commercial leadership and ecosystem development to create long-term market growth.

Your Impact

You will own the commercial development of the Transitional Care business in DACH by identifying new market opportunities, influencing strategy and building the partnerships required to transform care delivery. Success will be measured not only by commercial growth, but by your ability to shape new markets, accelerate customer adoption and influence the future direction of Philips' Transitional Care strategy across Europe.

Your Responsibilities
  1. Lead Market Development: Develop and execute the Transitional Care growth strategy for DACH aligned with Philips' European ambitions. Identify emerging market trends, healthcare reforms and competitive dynamics to unlock new growth opportunities. Translate customer insights into strategic recommendations that influence portfolio development, commercial priorities and investment decisions. Identify opportunities arising from changing reimbursement models, integrated care initiatives and healthcare policy developments. Represent the DACH market within European strategy discussions and contribute to the evolution of Philips' Transitional Care roadmap.
  2. Build Strategic Growth: Create new markets by identifying unmet customer needs and developing innovative commercial approaches. Build and maintain a robust pipeline of strategic commercial opportunities across the entire customer lifecycle. Develop scalable business models that accelerate adoption of Transitional Care solutions. Lead complex commercial opportunities involving multiple stakeholders from opportunity identification through implementation. Negotiate and establish strategic partnerships with technology providers, healthcare organisations and ecosystem partners that accelerate market adoption.
  3. Partner with Healthcare Leaders: Build trusted relationships with executive healthcare leaders, clinicians, integrated care networks, university hospitals, payer organisations and strategic partners. Collaborate with customers to redesign care pathways that improve patient outcomes, operational efficiency and continuity of care across hospital, community and home settings. Validate new value propositions through customer partnerships, pilot programmes and evidence generation. Represent Philips at national conferences, industry forums and professional associations, positioning Philips as a recognised thought leader in Transitional Care.
  4. Lead Through Influence: Act as the commercial voice of the DACH market within cross-functional European teams. Influence product strategy by translating customer and market insights into future portfolio requirements. Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Clinical, Product Management, Health Economics and R&D teams to ensure successful market execution. Coach local commercial teams and Business Development colleagues to strengthen Transitional Care capabilities across DACH.
  5. Drive Performance and Scale: Define measurable success metrics for market development initiatives. Monitor commercial performance, customer adoption and market maturity. Lead pilot programmes that demonstrate measurable clinical and commercial outcomes and provide the foundation for broader market scale-up. Communicate progress, risks and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who enjoys building markets rather than managing existing business. You combine strategic thinking with commercial execution and are energised by solving complex healthcare challenges. You thrive in ambiguous environments, influence senior stakeholders through credibility and enjoy creating new opportunities where others see obstacles.

Preferred Experience

Significant experience in business development, commercial strategy, healthcare consulting or strategic account management within MedTech, Digital Health or Healthcare IT. Strong understanding of the German healthcare ecosystem, including hospital providers, integrated care, reimbursement and healthcare policy. Demonstrated success launching new markets, introducing innovative healthcare solutions or leading strategic growth initiatives. Experience building executive-level relationships across healthcare providers, industry partners and ecosystem stakeholders. Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority. Strong commercial, financial and analytical capabilities with experience developing business cases and market strategies. Experience in patient monitoring, connected care, virtual care or Transitional Care is advantageous but not essential. Fluent German and proficient business English are required.

Personal Attributes

You are someone who: Thinks strategically and executes pragmatically. Is naturally entrepreneurial and comfortable creating structure from ambiguity. Has exceptional relationship-building and influencing skills. Enjoys working across organisational boundaries and disciplines. Balances analytical rigour with commercial creativity. Is resilient, curious and motivated by solving meaningful healthcare challenges. Inspires confidence through credibility, collaboration and delivery.

Why this role at Philips?

Joining Philips in this role means contributing to an important transformation in healthcare. In this role you will: Lead one of Philips' strategic growth priorities. Shape how care is delivered across hospital, community and home settings. Work directly with Germany's leading healthcare providers and industry partners. Influence European commercial strategy and future portfolio development. Operate with significant autonomy and visibility across senior leadership. Help build innovative care models that improve outcomes for patients and healthcare systems.

If you are excited by creating markets rather than following them, influencing healthcare transformation and leaving a lasting impact on one of Europe's most important healthcare systems, we would love to hear from you.

Compensation

The base salary range for this role is 103,510.62€-138,014.16 €. We determine pay within the range using objective factors, like the skills the role requires, your relevant experience and the responsibility you'll have in this role, alongside internal equity and local market considerations.
