Litona GmbH in Ulm is seeking a Battery Systems Engineer to own the end-to-end design of low-voltage battery packs (12/24/48 V) using next-generation sodium-ion cells. You will define pack architecture and lead the BMS development, with a hands-on role from concept to prototype and iteration based on data.
The position targets strong mid-level to senior engineers with practical experience in battery design, safety, and mass production.
Location: Ulm, Germany (on-site; partial home office possible for software work)
Type: Full-time
Seniority: Open - from strong mid-level to senior. Hands-on field experience is expected.
We are building a new standard for low-voltage batteries and we want you to help define it from the ground up. Using next-generation sodium-ion cells, we design 12/24/48 V battery packs with the potential to open up a large and largely untapped market.
As our Battery Systems Engineer, you own the design of these packs end to end: from mechanical/electrical pack architecture to the battery management system (BMS) that keeps them safe, efficient, and reliable. This is a foundational role. You won't be one engineer among hundreds tuning an existing product. You'll be building the product, and helping build the company around it.
If you want direct impact, real ownership, and the chance to be there from the very beginning, this is for you.
We want to see what you've actually designed and built. Any exposure to bringing a battery product from prototype to production is a plus.
