Rabot Energy is expanding its backend platform in Hamburg and seeks an experienced software architect for the pricing and billing domain. You will design scalable services, drive architectural decisions and mentor engineers to ship reliable, high‑quality code.

You will own the source of truth for pricing data, build distributed systems with C#/.NET Core, MongoDB, Docker and Kubernetes, and work closely with product teams to scale our dynamic electricity tariffs.

Qualifikationen

Your Mission

Every kilowatt-hour RABOT delivers to customers has to be priced, billed and processed correctly in real time. Dynamic tariffs, different product lines, growing customer numbers: our billing and pricing systems are the financial backbone of the company. You own the "source of truth" of our business.

Your job is to build the bridge between abstract energy data and precise financial execution. You develop and scale the backend services that process complex pricing logic and financial transactions. You work independently on hard problems, bring architectural vision, and help the team scale through clean code, solid patterns and shared standards. You’re not just a developer — you’re the guardian of our platform’s reliability.

Your Results

Month 3 (Ramp-up)

• You understand our platform architecture, existing systems and tech stack (C#/.NET, MongoDB, Docker, Kubernetes, GCP/Azure) deeply enough to independently plan and ship features.
• You’ve shipped your first significant feature in the billing/pricing backend or significantly improved an existing service.
• The team values your input on architecture decisions.

Month 6 (Performance)

• You’ve delivered several services and integrations (e.g. pricing logic, billing, financial transactions) that are stable, scalable and well-documented.
• You’ve refactored existing backend systems so they efficiently support new product lines and tariff models.
• You’ve introduced code or process improvements that increased team quality or velocity.

Month 12 (Scale)

• You’re the go-to technical reference for the backend architecture of our billing & pricing platform.
• The platform is built so that new product lines, tariff models and pricing logic can be delivered with significantly less effort than before you started.
• New engineers ramp up faster because you’ve shared knowledge, documented standards and set the bar.

Who We Are Looking For

• Systems thinker: You think in distributed systems, API design and scalability, not individual endpoints.
• Integration pro: You have experience connecting external systems, APIs and hardware providers. You know that "it works" isn’t enough. Integrations need to be reliable, maintainable and well-documented.
• Quality-driven: CI/CD, TDD and clean code are daily practice for you. You write code that others can understand and build on.
• Knowledge sharer: You don’t just raise your own code, you raise the whole team. Code reviews, architecture discussions, pair programming: you share actively and make others better.
• Product thinker: You don’t just build what’s in the ticket. You understand the customer problems behind an integration and bring technical insight into product decisions.

Professional requirements:
