About the Role

Join the core infrastructure team of a fast-growing energy technology company building the operating system for the next generation of European energy. The platform combines a modular billing engine, low-level energy-market communication protocols, and a full accounting ledger — delivered as a headless, API-first layer that enables hardware companies and energy providers to launch dynamic electricity plans rapidly. As a Backend Engineer, you will work across highly complex, distributed systems that power real-time electricity pricing, billing, and market integrations. This is a high-ownership role for engineers who love designing for scale and operating with autonomy in a fast-moving environment.

What You'll Do

• Solve for complexity through design — Architect clean, maintainable solutions to inherently hard infrastructure problems in energy billing and market communication.
• Scale the core — Contribute to scalable, reliable backend services that handle dynamic pricing, billing flows, and ledger operations at volume.
• Bias for action — Move quickly and decisively; ship meaningful work and iterate with purpose.
• Raise the bar — Uphold and improve engineering standards through code review, documentation, and thoughtful system design.

What We're Looking For

• Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• Required: 3–10+ years of backend engineering experience
• Proficiency in TypeScript (Node.js) with a strong grasp of asynchronous programming
• Hands‑on experience with PostgreSQL and an ORM (experience with Drizzle is a plus)

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: €80,000 – €120,000 per year, depending on experience
